#7332 19.09.2026 Relaxing with a few extra samples while watching the new season of The Witcher. Yet another very good bottling with a super good price tag. Intense profile with fruits, sugarcane, spice, floral, honey, chocolate, grass, licorice and a warm palate.

Tasted as a sample 3 times. You're really in the scent of cane sugar, the other notes are very subdued. There's a nice richness, especially on the nose, and the palate is warm with the alcohol, which remains well integrated. Interesting finish, where I also find a bit of peanut.

Very intense rereduced rhum, probably from cane juice, which clearly dominates here. The over 70% alcohol is very well integrated; I would have expected a few percent less. Overall very smooth but also a bit one-dimensional. There are fruity aromas, but they are pushed far into the background. Maybe these would come out better in a Daiquiri. A nice cane spirit would be my conclusion.

Once again a positive surprise from Chalong Bay. But I have to admit that this profile is not necessarily something I would drink neat. From experience, I would expect this bottling to perform well to very well as a mixer in a Daiquiri/TiPunch.

A really extremely cane-heavy rum that simply overwhelms everything else with its sweetness. The classic vegetal and floral aromas typical of unaged rums can be tasted but stay in the background. Definitely interesting in one or two cocktails.

👃 = Bright nose of fresh cane, smoked herbs with eucalyptus, lemon as well as a bit of coconut and flowers. 👄 = The strength of the alcohol takes over, the rusticity of burnt cane with spices, a bit of coffee then a salty finish. Rather than neat, I enjoyed it better with tonic, with an orange bitter for example 👍

As soon as poured into the glass, it fills the whole room with aroma. Cane (even an impression of cooked cane juice), cane and more cane. Light citrus, but not aggressive at all. A slightly herbal side as well. On the palate, an enormous sweetness, really surprising. It coats the whole mouth. An incredible integration of the alcohol. Very nice length. In short, everything is there. To date, the best pure juice tasted. Big congrats to Poh for this gem!
