CoR Savanna Eternal Summer 2026 (Rhum TH1)
Sip it neat and the Savanna signature lands straight away: strawberry and peach yoghurt, briny olive, varnish-ester and overripe tropical fruit over roasted wood. This is the TH1/HERR blend doing what it does — a fruit-and-ester bomb that somehow stays balanced, with the 59% tucked in cleanly. Several tasters call it the pick of the whole Savanna series; a few drops of air round it off further.

#7253 29.08.2026 Tasted at the German Rum Festival 2026. This is a very nice and well balanced rum and the price tag fits the quality in my mind. My quick notes from tasting. Fruity, well rounded, wood, roasted notes, light funk, spice and light ester.

A good cask selection from "The Colours of Rum"... it offers everything you expect without leaning too much in any direction. However, for an absolute top rating, I miss that special something. This is not meant as a criticism... it remains a very good bottling.

Tasting note. You can immediately smell and taste the TH1 Blend. The classic HERR aromas with strawberries and olive are consistently omnipresent and deliver the usual rich blend. For 150€, a no-brainer!

Online Savanna Masterclass as part of WLP 2026 Highly praised bottling that unfortunately didn’t really grab me. Yes, TH1 and HERR and Savanna... everything’s there to be truly fantastic. But somehow I wasn’t exactly disappointed, just not really thrilled either—I liked the Xandro better. It’s a good bottling, no doubt about it—but nothing I have to keep on my shelf.

Tasting at the RumX Masterclass on 25.09.2026 So this is one of the few rums where I get the hype. It's really tasty and you can almost drink it like soda even though it's really complex.

Savanna Masterclass tasting. For me, the best rum of the whole series. Just calmly tasted the rest of the sample again. In color, a slightly grayish gold. Soft impression on the nose. Light wood, nice fruitiness, well-integrated ABV. Very balanced and captivating. On the palate stronger, great mix of spice, wood, fruit, and sweetness. The finish is long and aromatic with smooth sweet notes. For my taste better than the finish on the 20y very rare cask.

Online RumX Savanna Tasting from 25.09.2026 Wonderful blend of 6-8 year old Traditional + HEER. Fruit and ester bomb, intense and complex on the nose and palate, never feels too rich. A little time in the glass opens up this fine drop and makes it even more approachable. The aromas are dominated by tropical fruits, strawberry, vanilla, and berries.

Savanna Masterclass Tasting September 2026 (unfortunately caught up alone): Ohh… I still have the RX26374 and especially the RX26651 ahead of me, but so far this is the best bottling of the evening. I really like it.

Savanna Masterclass 2026 LORD comes right through. Very fruity.
Review by Martin Mihaly
An excellent rum for the price-performance ratio. On the nose, nicely light and fruity, yogurt strawberry, peach. Naturally ester, a bit of green tea. On the palate warm, fruity, very pleasant. Strawberry and peach yogurt notes. Alcohol very well integrated. In the finish fruity and green tea taste. Really a great rum.

Starwberries, acidic, dry, funky. Great!

Nose on the varnish, esterified ripe tropical fruit, you quickly feel the herr influence, a fruity candy. It's a rum much more complex than you think. There's a completely crazy balance between woody, maybe due to the cognac finish which perhaps tames the herr that wants to go in all directions.

I did not expect to like this one as much as I did. The HERR fruits balance nicely on vanilla tones. Happy to have tried this (too) easy sipper. Too bad that it is flying off the shelves before it was even put there.
