Most helpful positive review
The Planteray rum with the highest ester content in the Anthologists collection series. The nose is creamy, with esters leaning towards lactic notes of fruit yogurt and ripe tropical fruits (banana, pineapple). The subtlety comes with pastry traits (pastries), slightly woody and spicy (vanilla, chili). A somewhat heavier profile but still accessible. The palate shows a good balance with ripe fruits (pineapple, banana), pastry notes (caramel cream, marzipan, pastries) and esters (concentrated on a milky side). The wood, roasted notes and spices (nutmeg, vanilla, pepper) are in the background but offer a nice consensus for the profile. A fairly straightforward and tasty profile, with well-integrated alcohol. The finish is medium length and presents some astringency. The profile warms the palate but is softened by pastries, caramel, vanilla and milky notes. Tropical fruits and spices round off a profile that becomes more pronounced at the end. A nice bottling but less convincing than the Foundation collection release. I’m curious to see what the profiles aged for about ten years will bring in the future.

#7426 25.09.2026 - 28.09.2026 Attending the Whisky Live in Paris 2026 with a few good friends. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce them to this event which was a first for them. Quick notes while tasting. Ester, fruits, spice, light roasted wood, molasses, herbs, resin, tannins.
