#7383 25.09.2026 - 28.09.2026 Attending the Whisky Live in Paris 2026 with a few good friends. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce them to this event which was a first for them. Quick notes while tasting. Very good mixer and also as a sipper. Fresh, floral, honey, fruits, sugarcane, medicinal, herbs, olive, light salt, mineral, licorice.

Tasted at WLP 2026 The first sniff, wow! Smells like new make spirit. Fantastic bouquet of flowers with bit of honey. Then the taste. This is a disappointment after the smell very diluted. Which makes sense if you want to sell it as a bar staple, not for a sipper. Afterwards I tasted it in a daiquiri, which was nice and the taste of the rum was prominent. Maybe a bit too prominent. Interesting spirit and nice to play around with in terms of cocktails.

Surprised by this new rum from Hampden. New part of the core range . Unaged blend of 3 marks, I believe OWH, HLCF and one more I'm not sure on (Maybe <>H?). Designed for cocktails, it has a unique profile in the Hampden range. Some estery funk, over ripe pineapple, cane vinegar, characteristic Hampden savoury notes and a little wet cardboard. Makes a fun daiquiri, but not sure I will ever pick it over Rum Fire when they are the same cost.
