Whisky Live Paris 2026 The score benefits a component for the historical value of the rum. The nose is mainly driven by tobacco, a wet tobacco, and leather, with some old bottles effect and hints of caramel. The palate is pretty consistent even if a bit less intense than expected

A historic bottling that is very unique in terms of flavor composition. Overall, tobacco, leather, a variety of (sweet) spices, wood, caramel, and burnt sugar dominate here. Fruit aromas are slightly noticeable but clearly in the background. You can tell this bottling has a strong cask influence, which you taste combined with burnt sugar and sweet spices like cinnamon lasting long into the finish. For the money, there are probably better rums, but older ones with the same quality are probably few.
