#7429 25.09.2026 - 28.09.2026 Attending the Whisky Live in Paris 2026 with a few good friends. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce them to this event which was a first for them. Quick notes while tasting. Roasted wood, spice, fruits, overripe, ester, glue, coffee, caramel, chocolate, tannins.

One of the best bottling of Whisky Live Paris 2026. Funky and deep, maybe less elegant that 2005 small batch released 2 years ago and more esplosive like 2010, this rum needs a lot of time to open before revealing between the esters and the vintage, an amazing orange trait

A Long Pond worthy of the name from Velier. The nose clearly shows tropical aging, it’s a delight of exotic fruits (banana, pineapple, papaya) accompanied by pronounced esters (glue, medicinal notes, camphor), all supported by woody, spicy, and dark leather aromas that highlight the full maturity and complexity of the profile. You can clearly feel the gap between this bottling and the other continental Long Ponds, it’s impressive. A real olfactory delight. The attack on the palate is very intense, yet the aromatic balance is spot on. Tropical fruits pour in like a fruit salad in the mouth (pineapple, banana, papaya, passion fruit, maracuja, citrus). The esters are bolder, medicinal, and tannic, strengthening the profile without throwing it off balance. The profile is enhanced with toasted wood, chocolate, leather, roasted notes, and sharper spices (chili) that offer a superb, controlled aromatic profile at its full potential. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, dry, and tannic, almost astringent yet so delicate. Chocolate, cinnamon, leather, and roasted notes go hand in hand with medicinal, esterified, and fruity flavors (mango) to deliver a superb final bouquet on the palate. A tropical Long Pond that lives up to expectations and personally delights me.
