A nose with sweetness and lots of fruit, very ripe, tropical fruit, pineapple and banana. Very expressive on the palate, with top-notch aromas. Very ripe fruit, well-integrated wood and alcohol. These aromas slowly diminish to form a beautiful finish. A blind-tasted rum that's really very good, balanced and fruity.

Amazing nose, sour taste ... Foursquare is a distillery from Barbados producing amazing rums for everyday sipping. It’s a rum especially appreciated by rum lovers who are fed up with sugar and look for a gentle, sweet rum full of coconut, vanilla, chocolate and caramel. Simply pleasant and not aggressive flavors.

I let this rest for a while before I dared to try it, given the high alcohol percentage. Recognizable Barbados profile and strong, but the alcohol is not overpowering. Taste-wise totally my thing, reminded me of salted caramel with tropical fruit. Delicious flavor that lingers long.

A nice 2005 Foursquare, which like the ECS Nobiliary alongside the typical conglomerate of caramel, roasted oak with a hint of glue as well as vanilla and coconut, rather shows light fruit notes with tropical nuances. A very tasty, roasted and long finish with a nice twist towards coffee chocolate is added on top.

A lively, powerful, and very generous Foursquare. The nose is very fruity (banana, pineapple, grape, coconut), accompanied by beautiful spices that enhance the toasted wood and ultra-indulgent pastry notes flooding the nose (caramel, pastries, toffee). The olfactory profile is very round, intense, yet very delicate. The promises of the nose are kept on the palate. Beautiful spices (vanilla, chili, nutmeg) mingle with a kind of chocolate, coconut, banana, and raisin dessert, all accompanied by warm notes of caramel, toffee, and brown sugar. The profile is almost criminally indulgent, yet the power balances the debate and offers an elegant profile. The alcohol is very well integrated. The finish is long, dry, and tends to show some muscle with some spicy, tobacco, oak notes and a touch of alcohol, but milk chocolate, nutmeg, caramel, and coconut soothe the tension on the palate. This is undoubtedly one of the best Foursquare bottlings by someone other than Velier and the distillery.

First point: let it breathe. Sion is too aggressive, even sharp (in the mouth). On the nose, I find it very banal and simple. Maybe a little caramel, a smell of foursquare. After 10 minutes, we can taste it, and the surprise: I find that the woody attack is very pronounced, then comes the alcohol and finally that taste so particular to foursquare. The finish is rather short in intensity.

👃 typical foursquare: it smells of coconut barbapapa and pastry-style coconut rocher. The intensity is high. 👄 in the same vein: very pastry-like. Coconut is omnipresent. It's not sickening, thanks to its high alcohol content, which fortunately counterbalances everything. Medium finish. A very good foursquare with power. It will be appreciated by rum lovers who want to rub shoulders with the 60+ degree rum club.

A Foursquare with quite a lot of fruit on the nose and a certain freshness. Not as heavy as the Foursquare I really appreciate. The palate is quite lively, the alcohol could be better integrated. A well-present woody side. A good product, but nothing transcendent.

Let's move on to Barbados with 2 bottles of Rasta: Foursquare 2005-2019 at 63.6% Foursquare 2007-2020 at 61.7% On the nose we are right in the Foursquare style with coconut, wood and vanilla. From the first sip, the mouth is enveloped by this gourmand and round rum. All with a well-managed concentration. The alcohol is very well integrated. Personally, I prefer the 2005 version which has a longer and more persistent finish than the latest 2020 bottling (distilled 2007). Nothing revolutionary (as often with this distillery) but good!
