#7441 25.09.2026 - 28.09.2026 Attending the Whisky Live in Paris 2026 with a few good friends. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce them to this event which was a first for them. Quick notes while tasting. Medium intense, fruits, spice, sugarcane, honey, chocolate, rubber, diesel, medicinal, licorice, roasted wood, floral.

First rum from Vanuatu for Habitation (and myself). The nose is original, with only a few herbal notes: instead, it’s more about sweet softness, both cane and caramel, chocolate, and pastries. There’s also a light wood influence that brings bourbon, toasted notes, and gentle spices (vanilla). You can also detect a touch of dried fruit. A young, soft, and pleasant profile. The attack on the palate is soft and gradual. The aromas are the same as on the nose: a good dose of indulgence with caramel, bourbon, and honeyed sugarcane, accompanied by light wood that enhances the spicy, toasted, fruity (especially citrus), and chocolatey flavors. It’s a fairly conventional profile, you could say it lacks punch, but overall it’s quite well controlled, with well-integrated alcohol. The finish is surprisingly long and spicy. You find that creamy, soft side of sugarcane with its sweet notes, as well as vanilla and dried fruit. A medicinal note emerges in the background of the mouth. A rather successful first glimpse of Vanuatu; I’d like to see what this terroir offers with older editions.
