#7440 25.09.2026 - 28.09.2026 Attending the Whisky Live in Paris 2026 with a few good friends. We had a great time and it was nice to introduce them to this event which was a first for them. Quick notes while tasting. Intense, woody, roasted, medicinal, fruits, spice, marzipan, smoke, herbs, salt, chocolate.

First Fijian bottling for Habitation Velier, and it’s quite a nice surprise. The nose is expressive with aromas of pineapple, banana, and overripe citrus, along with esters and camphor. A sweet touch of caramel accompanies the profile, which becomes spicier as it goes (vanilla, chili, anise). A lively and appealing rum on the nose. The palate is oily and full with that ripe fruitiness still very present (banana, pineapple, orange) but now joined by a bit of petrol, rubber, and medicinal notes of camphor. The spices are warmer and the wood becomes more tannic, offering a more astringent, rougher profile but just as generous. The alcohol is quite well integrated. The finish is long and in the same vein: that dry and tannic facet returns, along with spicy and smoky sequences that linger in the mouth. The finish is supported by tropical fruits that bring some softness. A good representative of South Pacific that delivers what you’d expect from Fiji, funk, generosity, and complexity.
