The nose is very aromatic with esters, tropical fruits, marzipan, nice acidity... clearly recognizable to me as a single light. On the palate, light sweetness, marzipan, tropical fruits, a bit of menthol and esters. Unfortunately, it feels a bit watery here, finish is bitter and dry.

The typical Saint Lucia DNA is definitely present but remains more in the background here. On the nose, some dried fruit, spice, wood, and slight bitter notes; on the palate, a bit more of the known dirty Lucia aroma comes through. However, only in a mild form and without the intensity I expect from Saint Lucia. Solid rum, but not an outstanding one... Saint Lucia can definitely do more.

The St. Lucia profile plays with its fruit and subtle spices but remains unusually restrained and therefore feels like an unfulfilled promise. Considering the usual quality of other releases from St. Lucia, this "good" rum ends up in the lower mid-range, which speaks to the general level but sets the relative standard for this release a bit too high.
