"You end up right at home with DBM," as one taster put it — the nose is expressive and unmistakable. Think thick molasses underneath, woody oak, candied tropical fruit and a cool minty-camphor lift. The palate turns into passion fruit, vanilla and allspice, with the 58.3% tucked in cleanly. A few members swear it tastes like a Trois-Rivières on the palate. Finishes long, fruity and a touch bitter.

Really nice 2009 DBM and rightly hyped. On the nose, it subtly reminds me of the 98 Guadeloupe Bellevue but is also very unique. Floral, fruity, spicy & vegetal. Some red pepper strangely on the nose and orange peel. On the palate, immediate TDL associations with plenty of mint, yellow fruits, menthol, and oak tannins. Very solid bottling at a fair price! I would have immediately guessed a TDL on the palate blindfolded.

DBM 16 years old cask strength 58.3° Bottle just opened. The nose is really expressive, you immediately find yourself at DBM! You don't feel the proof, there's wood, candied fruits, a slight freshness (which reminds me of camphor) and a big molasses in the background. The palate is an explosion of aromas, a nice thick molasses, vanilla with its share of spices then a big passion fruit arrives and grabs the palate for a good while. The alcohol is perfectly integrated. This thing is ultra good 🙃 The finish continues on tropical-passion fruits, a slight bitterness leaning towards coffee/dark chocolate, the oak cask resurfaces as well as a slight freshness then a light butter caramel comes to close the march. There's a big TDL vibe in this rum. Long live Guadeloupe!

After pouring, the nose develops after about half an hour from a sour mustiness to an orangey sweetness. It reminds me a bit of chocolate-covered cookies filled with orange jelly. The dark notes are accompanied in the background by a light mint. Quite complex and deep. Very tasty.

This is something really tasty and very smooth. The flavor is full of molasses and you can also taste the cane. They complement each other perfectly! The finish changes the flavor direction again and becomes fruity. The alcohol is very well integrated.

A really nice fruit bomb from Guadeloupe. On the nose, peach, strawberry, dried fruits, and leather. On the palate, mint, which also comes back in the finish. The finish also has a hop note. Somehow it drinks like a mix between a fruity Cognac and a T.D.L.

The DBM identity with intensity, length. I get flambéed banana, mandarin, caramel, vanilla, and other tropical fruits. Nice to have a new style of "fruity molasses"
