Oliver & Oliver Opthimus 15 Años
Here's the surprise: for a 15-year label, most tasters find it gentle rather than deep. Creme brulee, vanilla and raisin lead, with a light spice in the aftertaste. Several call it round and sweet without being cloying, but a few note a thin mouthfeel and a very short finish. Classic soft Dominican style from Oliver & Oliver.
The community says- Smooth and round
- Vanilla and caramel
- But: Thin mouthfeel

How does Oliver & Oliver Opthimus 15 Años taste?
Aggregated from 57 community reviews.
Soft, sweet Dominican sipper, short finish Most find it round, sweet and easy, with vanilla up front. The common gripe: thin on the palate and a finish that fades fast. Pleasant, not memorable.

Excellent. Great example of DR as one of the really good places to find quality spanish style rum.

Comme souvent avec les ron je trouve cela assez plat
Review by Joachim Guger
It does not smell bad at all, but in the mouth thin and stale. Guest rum.
Review by TheJackDrop
Good good good Not much to say it's not bad, it's finer, balanced, not too sweet. Now, apart from vanilla and a few bonus notes, there's not much, and above all the finish is ultra-short.
Review by Tim
Typical sweet representative from the Dom Rep. Nothing special, but very round. A little spicy in the mouth, but mainly sweet. There are many other vintages in the Opthimus range, but I don't expect any major differences. I'm beginning to wonder what the difference is between the ranges (Opthimus, Quorhum...) of O&O anyway: probably none and pure sales strategy.

Smells good, but the taste is not convincing. A little too expensive.
Review by Kieron Wood
A decent rum that is OK on the pallet... Not depths of flavour but a gentle spice which is nice in the aftertaste....
