How does Hampden Gold taste?
Budget-friendly soft Hampden funk
Think of this as a low-cost gateway into Jamaican funk: the character is there for cocktails, but it won’t match the depth of Hampden’s higher-end, higher-ABV releases neat.
Neat-sipping purists looking for deep complexity, long finish or the intense high-ester punch of Hampden’s higher-strength bottlings.

Overall a rum with a rather typical Jamaican funky nose, but very soft and light at the palate that my son offered me a glass of. It’s probably a quite short aged golden colored rum produced by the Hampden Estate in Jamaica.
Very pleasant surprise: fairly quiet nose (by hampden standards) palate was mineralic, dry, clean and superb grapefruit, with touches of olive and salt to finish. Not rough at all. Distillate still delivers at 40%.
Try and mix this one with pineapple juice yuuuuum.
Only for mixing, to rough otherwise fory taste.
