A very good rum to start with Jamaican rum. The Hampden aromas can be sensed on the nose. On the palate, the rum remains smooth, fruity aromas dominate but the esters are well present. The alcohol is well integrated, it's an excellent value for money.

I only drink rum neat, rather than mixes like daiquiris, so that probably affects my rating here. Incredibly harsh and weak flavor. Tastes more like a cheap vanilla flavored vodka than anything else. Maybe good in a daiquiri but certainly not on its own. Plantation 3 star is a much better white rum sipper. Very disappointing for a rum with such a reputation.

#5359 28.05.2025 Running some samples while listening to some Goa Trance on Spotify. Nose Fresh, sugarcane, light vanilla, light grass, mineral, faint floral, light citrus. Palate Fresh, naturally sweet, fruits, light vanilla, sugarcane, medium spicy, light coconut, citrus, light grass. Finish Medium long, sugarcane, naturally sweet, light dry, light citrus, light mineral. Empty glass Light citrus, sugarcane, coconut, Agricole, light sour, banana. Price to quality is very good and it does well in a Rum'n'Coke.

It has that funky Jamaican rum flavor, which is a good introduction for someone who hasn’t tried it. Great for mojitos.

A light bodied rum, that is light from aroma to finish. You start with a pleasant white wine vinegar mixed with tropical fruits on the nose. The tropical fruits carry into the palate where you get some peppery spice. There is a medium finish with lingering spice.

Fruity and creamy, tropical fruits dominate the nose, complemented by buttery nuances. The mouthfeel is soft and versatile, ideal as a base for daiquiris but also on its own. Despite the sweetness, the rum has slight ester and funk notes that keep it exciting. Overall accessible and pleasant, not a top profile, but round and versatile.

I’ve been using this a lot in a daquiri and I couldn’t give a reason why until now. The flavors and intensity is brought out a lot more once shaken into a cocktail. On it’s own, it’s like a high ABV white wine. It has a great sweet aroma without the feeling of drinking sugar. It brings a fruity taste, with a nice mouth tingling finish. At this price, it’s a great foursquare to share this friends on it’s own, or mixed.

Very different from any other rum I’ve had. On the nose I instantly get hit with cream notes and a background of tropical fruit. Butterscotch is also present in this beautiful aroma. On tasting a strong mineral flavor takes center stage, joined by much of the flavors on the nosing. In the finish the minerality stands more or less alone. Great rum, curious what other rums have strong creamy and/or mineral notes.

Aromas of banana, wine, vinegar and a buttery hint. Flavors of spice, root, leather and hints of funk and fruit. Finish is pretty long. My palate is starting to grow and I am liking this way more then when I first tried it.

This is supposed to be a stellar mixing rum, but damn is pretty good for sipping. Very creamy feeling and you can taste some funkiness. This is the same as Veritas, but this is the brand name used for the US market. Nose: ripe banana. Taste: Ripe tropical fruits, very creamy, and sweet in a good way. The aftertaste is even better, the fruit flavor dominates your palate for a long time.
