Kingsbury Hampden Jamaica Rum Single Cask LROK 2000
What surprises most people here is how soft a 17-year Hampden can be. The nose nails the classic Hampden DNA — esters, pineapple, tropical fruit — but several tasters feel it was diluted too far at 46%, so the palate slides into something thin and pleasant rather than punchy. There's glue, a little milk chocolate and an olive-brine streak underneath. Easy, but quieter than you'd expect.

You can't really go far wrong with Hampden. This one is good, but not very good, Hampden has far better ones. The nose consists of esters and tropical fruits. The palate is also ester and very fruity.

Hampden DNA kann man klar rausschmecken. Leider ist er schon sehr verdünnt. Für meinen Geschmack könnte er ein höheres High Ester Mark haben.

Nice daily sipper. Not spectacular, does exactly what you expect. But there are certainly Hampdens with a better PLV.

Mmh .... Relatively unspectacular but still delicious . Moisture is in the foreground... Alcohol not perceptible (very thin) but the HD gene is still clearly recognizable. Some bitterness in the finish but all in all ok but nothing special. Surprisingly good in May Tai. 3/5

Nice rum, outside the usual range of the well-known bottlers. The LROK Mark is not necessarily one of my favorites. Nevertheless, it's a solid rum in the easy sipper category. The only criticism is that it seems a little too thin to me.

Schönes Nase mit den typischen Hampden Noten von Estern, tropischen Früchten. Ananas etc. Leider kann der Geschmack nicht mithalten. Die starke Verdünnung killt den Rum zwar nicht, fährt das Ganze aber auf ein eher sanftes Niveau runter, das in die Belanglosigkeit abzurutschen droht. Es blitzen noch kurz Erdbeeren-Sahne-Bonbons auf und die Frage: Warum wurde ein offenkundig toller Rum so runter verdünnt?

Extrem schwacher Hampden. Habe ja grundsätzlich nichts gegen Verdünnung aber hier ist nahezu sämtliches aroma verloren gegangen. Abgesehen von Klebstoff, röstigen Aromen, etwas Milchschokolade und Olivenlake ist hier nicht viel zu finden. Für mich eher enttäuschend...
