#7335 20.09.2026 Relaxing with some samples after a relaxing day. Watching Myth Busters on Amazon Prime. Pretty nice Saint James especially when looking at the price tag. Medium intense profile with roasted wood, coffee, chocolate, caramel, fruits, spice, grass, sugarcane leather and a very smooth warm finish.

Nice bottle for an average rum. Based on tannins, leather, which is quite pleasant on the nose but poorer on the palate, however with a marked floral side quite unusual and interesting. Very little length. A somewhat closed rum, needs time, nice and original but nothing more. Edit 2025 blind tasting: Fabulous nose, very pastry-like. Ultra disappointing palate, watery, transparent without any consistency or complexity. Length almost nonexistent. To delight novices because they can get drunk on its smell while swallowing it very easily. I don't change my score of 6.8, redeemed by the nose.

For me, it smells and tastes more like a rhum agricole that has been aged for ages: woody, herbal, dry, not very complex and more like a very dry, somewhat oxidized sherry. I love rhum agricole and am a big Saint James fan, but this bottle didn't convince me.
