One member called the nose "a war between whisky and rum," and that split runs through the whole bottle. This is a young Martinique agricole finished in single malt whisky casks, so you get sugar cane and orange peel wrapped in oak, peat and a light smoky, almost medicinal edge. Some find it a genuinely interesting twist; others feel the cask and spirit never quite marry.

A fruity and woody smell, sugarcane, a bit smoky like whisky. The taste is equally fruity and woody-smoky, slightly medicinal. A very successful combination.

#7307 16.09.2026 Running a few samples after a terrible night because of a tetanus shot I got yesterday. Listening to some nice Trance on Spotify. This one wasn't really me, the agricole and peat didn't balance well. Agricole profile with peat, sugarcane, spice, fruits, ginger, smoke, caramel, medicinal, honey, roasted wood and a dry palate.

Destillerie Trois Rivières Distillery Martinique September 2026. Führungen gab es heute keine, daher musste man die Destille auf eigene Faust erkunden, konnte aberb im Shop noch ein paar Rums verkosten. Ganz ok trotz Whiskyfinish.

A nose where the whisky is at war with the rum and the result doesn't please me much. Like a cellar with apples aging in the mouth. A very soft, diluted palate. Not unpleasant but you could expect more, right?
