13.04.2013 Whiskymessen Meeting up with some friends bringing bottles to sample as well. Notes Light in colour. Nose Fresh, light wood, faint ester, fruity, light floral, faint rubber. Palate Warm, light wood, faint smoke, faint ester, fruity, light marzipan, faint chocolate. Finish Medium long, wood, fruits, light marzipan.

On the nose a classic Hampden with lots of roasted fermented pineapple! Plus light esters and vanilla/honey! On the palate initially a honey sweetness, light pineapple fruit, spice, woodiness and salt! But all only in hints! Here the dilution was unfortunately too strong! The finish is also too short and unspectacular because of that! Without dilution this would certainly have been an excellent rum.. so it remains only an ideal entry into the Mark HLCF.
