TRC Enmore Guyana 1988
Old-Demerara fans who like their Enmore woody but not bone-dry will get the most out of this 28-year single wooden pot still. Expect licorice, dried plum, leather, roasted oak and pepper, with a surprisingly sweet, fruity edge several tasters didn't expect from a rum this old. It runs slightly bitter through the long finish, and a couple of people felt the body could be fuller.
- Balanced spice and fruit
- Dried plum, leather
- Oily, long finish

This rum was a very nice surprise and I got one for my collection right away. The nose is very fruity with spices and in the back i can find leather and nice wood. The palate is well balanced, intense and slightly bitter with fruits and spices. There is a nice peppery spiciness here and in the back a tiny bit of earthyness. The finish is long and slightly bitter with roasted oak and a tad of coffee.

Beautifully balanced between spicy wood and fruit. Great rum.

Clearly rounder and tamer than the Flensburg. Nevertheless, intense and complex. I really like it.

Despite identical rating but again clearly different from the 32-year-old sister barrel. Here, some aroma strands are still present in a little more force, which gives the rum more balance and occasionally reminds of the minerality of old Versailles. This is somewhat at the expense of the heavy Demerara sweetness, which is not able to trump up in the absolute finesse. Still very good.
