Despite identical rating but again clearly different from the 32-year-old sister barrel. Here, some aroma strands are still present in a little more force, which gives the rum more balance and occasionally reminds of the minerality of old Versailles. This is somewhat at the expense of the heavy Demerara sweetness, which is not able to trump up in the absolute finesse. Still very good.

This rum was a very nice surprise and I got one for my collection right away. The nose is very fruity with spices and in the back i can find leather and nice wood. The palate is well balanced, intense and slightly bitter with fruits and spices. There is a nice peppery spiciness here and in the back a tiny bit of earthyness. The finish is long and slightly bitter with roasted oak and a tad of coffee.

On the nose, it could almost pass for a Rev. Prunes, licorice, molasses, wood, tobacco, leather and a light herbal note. Nicely oily in the mouth with plenty of licorice and leather, slightly bitter. Very balanced and easy to drink thanks to the low ABV. Great bottling!

Unexpectedly sweet and fruity for an old Enmore, wood recedes. Later salted bacon, bitter tones in the finish. Exciting flavor bomb, slight deductions due to not perfectly integrated alcohol.

For such an old Enmore, unexpectedly sweet and fruity in taste but also already in the nose. The wood is there, but is somewhat pushed into the background by a very strong fruit note. Along with the sweet note comes salted bacon later and then rather bitter notes in the finish. Overall exciting but there are definitely better Guyanas.

Wow, intensely spicy-fruity on the nose. The dried and sulfurized apricot came through first. Behind that, sweet cherry. Aromatic-woody with leather and a slight caramel note. I really like it. Strong on the palate. Bitter and immediately licorice. Spicy-woody afterwards. It also feels a bit dull-earthy. Slightly peppery with nutmeg. The finish leaves some licorice and a bit of bitter tea. Very nice, old Enmore.

Second try. Still a lot of wood. But today fruits also came through. On the nose today I had something roasted like coffee. Here the bitterness that stays on the palate fits too.

This MEC has a really great smell. The subtly meaty-sulfurous distillate brings an exciting undertone to the typical aromas of dark Demerara rums. Taste-wise, after 28 years in the barrel, there is expectedly a lot of oak, but also dried fruits, spices, chocolate and licorice are not missing. The gentle finish, however, is surprisingly short and thin. I would have expected more there, but it's not so bad because it only means I can quickly return to the outstanding scent.

Nose: Alcohol quite noticeable on the nose. Dark fruits dominate. Palate: clearly peppery and strong at the start, then warm cocoa and coffee aromas of strong character. Along with dark fruits and licorice as well as wood. Finish: long-lasting, bitter and woody. Clear coffee and tobacco notes. Conclusion: stronger than the S.B.S 1988 on nose and palate, but very similar.

Beautiful, rounded Enmore, but you should give it a lot of time to open up the aromas. You are rewarded with dark notes, especially dried plum. The wood influence is not too dominant despite long aging, the bitterness complements excellently here. Only the body lacks some fullness, so not quite top league.
