A strong aroma, vanilla, esters, alcoholic with some fruit. The taste is strong, woody and a bit smoky, slightly sharp and peppery, reminiscent of a whisky.

Unfortunately, the alcohol is very poorly integrated. Even after a long resting time, the alcohol is still very present. Otherwise, fruity notes, slightly medicinal, some spices. Unfortunately a bit disappointing

Jamaica without Hampden Tasting: Not really my thing. Quite alcoholic, little fruit and some yoghurt on the nose and palate. A little honey, but overall very sharp-edged. The palate also has a slight smoky aroma reminiscent of a whisky cask.

This is not the best Monymusk I have had but not a bad one either. You get what you pay for in my mind. I like the smoked wood going through the profile with light fruit and spices. I would have loved a better balance and some more punch to it.

Clarendon Comparison CDI, RA, TRC I like this one much better than the CDI. The fruit basket is similar to the CDI, but it also has melon, banana and orange peel, and is altogether more complex and rounder with glue, aniseed, sweet baked apple and cookie dough. Much oilier and fuller in the mouth. Slightly sweet, fruity and delicately spicy. Despite everything, the fruit remains relatively one-sided in the foreground, which is a little too much for me. Overall, however, it is much more complete

In terms of profile, it's not my thing. Spiciness and smoke are very present. It seems unbalanced with individual notes of ester and fruit. There are also hints of fermented milk, with slightly musty tones. Not my cup of tea. I see it more in a cocktail than neat in a glass.

The longer the bottle stood, the better it got. Initially quite sharp-edged. On the nose many yellow fruits, varnish and esters, and that often mentioned butyric acid smell, really wild. On the palate then peppery, sharp-edged, warms well through. The alcohol is noticeable. Added are light aromas of wood, cocoa, smoke and it is a bit earthy. When opening the bottle it really overwhelmed me, but towards the end I like it, it has many edges and corners. But value for money top.

Trockene Würze. Schönes Esterbouqet. Alkohol - wie meine Vorredner schon erwähnten - deutlich . Allerdings gefällt mir das. Der hat Wumms, warum soll man das nicht merken? Schöne Gewürznoten, nicht süß, holzig und würzig. Hat was von einem trockenem Gewürztraminer, mit 5 mal so viel Umdrehungen. Wenn er etwas Luft bekommen hat, wird er runder, Vanille in der Nase und grüner Apfel mit frischem Gras ( nicht das zum Rauchen). Maische vom Obstler, schön gährend. Sehr gutes PLV. Hab 50€ bezahlt. Hat sich gelohnt.

Nose: subtle for Jamaica, but vanilla, pepper, varnish and slightly fruity notes as well as honey. Palate: very peppery start. Sharp, then briefly cocoa and the acidity takes over, wood follows. Finish: long, full-bodied, bitter. Conclusion: Too peppery for a Jamaican. There are better and much more complex rums from this region.
