Port-wine lovers are the real audience here. This Panama column-still rum spent time in tawny port casks, and members taste it loud and clear: cherry, plum, dark chocolate, caramel and dried fruit over noticeable oak. Sweet but not cloying, soft and easy to drink. At 40% a couple of tasters wish it hit harder, and one called it "not well sweetened," but most find real depth for a Panama sipper.

This is one of the 3 releases of the XV and it's pretty good actually. The nose starts off with a lot of caramel, in a good way, then goes into candied fruits wit some oakiness to it. The palate continues with the fruits and some leather and spices. The Port cask is definitely there and I like it. The finish is medium to long, astringent with vanilla and sweetness to it. Price to quality is good.

8:On the nose, aromas of vanilla, nuts (almond) and cherry are delicious. Classic caramel and tobacco are also present. 7,8:On the palate, the attack is soft but also intense and one might think that this rum is over 40°. Caramel, tobacco and nuts make up this gourmet profile. 8:The finish is long, with tobacco playing the leading role. Wood and almond try to take the spotlight, but are ultimately defeated..

The color is really dark brown with red tones - mahagon maybe. The nose - a lot of fruits - cherry tones, wood and spices - like burnt sugar, barrel, vanilla The taste is sweet, but not bad cheap sweet, but more like caramel and dried fruits or honey, woody tones of oak, alcohol is integrated very well, but still present in background.. The aftertaste taste is medium or long - keeps me warm with taste of nuts, wood . Overall I like it, even if I am not into soleras. This one is by my opinion the most complex solera I have tasted.

Oh wow, this rum impressed me. It has a lovely vanilla aroma on the nose, followed by spices. The palate also has a nice, slightly spicy vanilla flavor. Reasonable sweetness and well-integrated alcohol round off the good impression.

I don't think they empty barrel before filling it with rum. This bottle has so much port wine flavour. On nose sweet, port, caramel, spices In mount nicely sweet, rum with so much port, and red fruits, chocolate Finish is nice with honey, some smoke, dark chocolate, and burnt sugar Over all it is lovely rum, with very much port. It's not something complex with deep, but it's not flat. Like dos maderas 5+5, but better, less sweet, more rum

Super easy-drinking on the nose with milk chocolate, honey, vanilla, a bit of wood but generally very mild. On the palate, first sweet then chocolaty spicy with a clear port wine note. The finish is medium to long with pleasant sweetness and light wood. Very very easy-drinking but at >60 bucks not very competitive.

Barrel notes come through, port, some plum, very pleasant. Pleasantly soft in the mouth, port continues, dark caramel with light coffee notes. Pleasantly long finish.

Port and thick caramel on the nose. Some oak. A hint of cherry, raisin. Pours dark golden in colour. Maybe orange peel. The mouth is a little more standard. Caramel and some pepper. Barrel is well integrated. The finish brings some fruit those on next breath. I feel like this is a little better than Napoleon, though it's been a couple days since I had that one. Medium finish, with plenty of sweetness. Probably dosed but not bad nevertheless. Had this in a flight at Pedro Mandinga.

A lovely nose for cherry lovers. The port cask has imparted lovely sweet notes to this rum. A hint of grenadine syrup is tempting. On the palate, a big disappointment in my opinion: at 40%, it's too reduced and there's not much left but a little syrup...

Mahogany - ruby colour. Sweet woody, port, liquorice smell. Soft taste till the end. Port cask is noticable, there are tones of chocolate, cherry, plum, barrel. Medium dry aftertaste. Attention! So easy to drink it, that you may end under the table. Best from the series.

Aroma: sweet, honey candied dried fruits, dense wine aroma, a lot of wood and as burnt as in the two oaks version. Taste: apricots, very sweet dense with a long berry-dried fruit flavor, with transitions to a peach history, but there is still a lot of wood and you can feel the aging. Very cute, dense and with a wonderful sweet fragrant fruity aftertaste. Аромат: сладкий, медовые засахареные сухофрукты, плотный винный аромат, много дерева и такого обожённого, как в версии two oaks. Вкус: абрикосы, очень сладкий плотный с долгим ягодно-сухофруктовым вкусом, с переходами в персиковую историю, но ещё много дерева и чувствуется выдержка. Очень мило, плотно и с чудесным сладким ароматным фруктовым послевкусием.

The Ron Abuelo XV Tawny Port is a wonderfully smooth, fruit-forward Panama rum. Plum, cherry, and dark berries meet caramel, chocolate, and a fine port wine sweetness. On the palate, it's velvety and rich, later adding notes of nuts, tobacco, and some dry oak. I especially like the transition from sweet fruit to a drier, spicier finish. Not a powerhouse, but a relaxed digestif with lots of charm.
