8,3:On the nose, a bit alcoholic, rubber and tar, bicycle tube, roasted wood notes with caramel, roasted nuts, milk chocolate, leather, oaky and spicy, slightly herbaceous molasses, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, citrus and tropical fruits arise, figs and mirabelle plum, creme brulee, vanilla and cream, metallic patina. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is fruity with citrus, tropical and yellow fruits, grapes, very marmelade like, citrus fruits become candied, the molasses is fresh with tea, sweet with honey, the wood roasted with caramel, creme brulee, oaky and spicy with anise, vanilla, pepper, dirty, medicinal with rubber, varnish, slightly bitter. 8,2:The finish is long, dry, slightly bitter, with roasted wood notes, oaky, like nuts, creme brulee, cappuccino, leather, pairing industrial tones with rubber, grassy, fresh molasses with tea, sweet with honey and tropical, yellow and citrus fruits. In itself quite an interesting distillate, but the whole has almost nothing at all to do with Caroni. Opulent sweetness, vanilla, caramel, milky notes, some coffee, yellow fruits. On the palate, a gum note flits through the flavor profile, but that was it with the reminiscences of the typical Caroni notes. A rum that should work much better blind than with the Caroni expectation as a guideline.

This one was supposed to be the piece de resistance, but it was a huge disappointment especially when looking at the price tag and we all agreed on that. The Caroni is there but not that well balanced. The long finish is more bacause of a poorly integrated ABV in my mind.
