Day trip Dortmund August 2025. Shop Weinhaus H. Hilgering. I was allowed to taste it on site. Average rum. Very fruity on the nose, also some wine and caramel. On the palate also fruity (cherry), also wine again and some wood.

the vermouth cask finish influence is mega exciting.... pure something special and unusual but makes a damn cool rum Manhattan with the matching mancino rosso vermouth 🙏🏻

Interesting experience, but in my opinion they should mature far much less time in those vermouth casks. Vermouth very dominates and character of original Don Q style fades…
