Der 18-jährige Malecon Reserva Imperial war insgesamt in Ordnung, die Erwartungen an diesen Rum lagen persönlich jedoch höher. Die häufig prognostizierte Frucht hat wohl den Weg in meine Flasche nicht gefunden und landete vermutlich in einer anderen. Dennoch war auch der Bereich Holz, Röstaromen und Gewürze mal etwas anderes und insgesamt ganz nett. Wer jedoch überwiegend auf eher süße Rums zurückgreift, sollte sich eher nach einer Alternative umsehen.

Der Rum hat einen kräftigen Goldton. Ein ziemlich süßer und süffiger Geruch, Karamell, etwas Portwein. Im Geschmack etwas weniger süß, leicht bitter, etwas würziger. Der Abgang ist weich, etwas süßer als der Geschmack.

Bin nicht enttäuscht worden. Malecon steht für runde Rums. nicht gesüßt, kernig eben. hervorragendes Preis Leistungsverhältnis. war meine 2te Flasche von Malecon. Nachtrag heute nochmal getastet, der Unterschied zum 25 jährigen ist doch größer. Der 25jährige ist komplexer, beide Top Rums

Got the rum as a free sample from Rum&Co. You can drink it, but you don't have to buy it. I think that sums it up quite well. Nothing about the rum is annoying, but nothing really sticks in your mind either.

Minimal besser wie der 15er aber haut mich jetzt auch nicht um. Auch hier wirkt das ganze für mich wieder leicht rauchig, malzig & leicht torfig, hier schon speckig. Außerdem etwas süßer wie der 15er, aber auch wieder eher dünn und verwässert wirkend.
