Pineapple, mango and green banana on the nose, then it turns herbal and woody on the palate — black tea, spice, a whiff of medicine and a light smoke. Most tasters call it remarkably deep and complex for just 6 years, a proper Vendome pot-still St. Lucia. The main gripe: the finish drops off and a couple wished for more punch.

Impressive St. Lucia - fruit, freshness, some wood and spice...not only in view of the release price at the time an absolutely outstanding release. From today's perspective, hardly imaginable to get this quality at such prices. Excellent.

Edit: In direct comparison, RX528 had the edge here. Ranks in the middle of the Chairman’s I’ve tried. Franconian Tasting Gang Compared to the other Chairman’s, this one ranks in the middle.

Very fruity fresh nose of orange blossoms, pineapples and green banana, a bit of vanilla and sour cherry. In the mouth it falls off significantly, less fruity, more spice and bitter substances and floral notes.

I have been looking for the three Haromex bottlings for a long time, I like St Lucia and the reviews make me very curious. I have now tasted them and have to conclude: delicious, but there are now much better bottlings on the market in the Chairman's Reserve Masters Selection range. This one is very much on the herbal side, with herbs, black tea etc. Interesting, but not quite my cup of tea.

At first on the nose young wood, smoky & spicy, then increasingly fruity with pineapple, papaya, then it goes more and more into a floral herbal direction like sesame, thyme (za'atar spice mix)... exciting! On the palate rather lightly sweet and fruity, mango dipped in honey, pineapple, plus roasted sesame and thyme (za'atar) and mandarin peel, in the finish then a bit woodier, spicier woody towards black tea with peach, mango, herbs and allspice and papaya. A very nice example of the Vendome style! 🇱🇨🤤 Could be classified blind as a WIRD 2000 Barbados! Impressive complexity for just 6 years old!!

Yeah, this one is really good again. Very vanilla and spicy on the nose, I also recognized cherry. On the palate also very spicy and vanilla. Cherry is also recognizable here. It's a really good rum :)

A very complex bottling from Saint Lucia which excellently combines various tropical fruits, vegetal aromas, spices and wood. On the palate and later finish the bitterness increases a bit but is still within limits

Unlike the various 50% John Dore I / 50% Vendome bottlings, the Haromex is a pure Vendome bottling, which makes it interesting again. On the nose surprisingly heavy and 'deep' for 6 years in the barrel. Lots of spices, dried fruits, mango, caramel, and slightly medicinal. This continues on the palate. In the finish, some tobacco and (fermented) tea come in. I like it very much!

Surprisingly mature at only 6 years old, yet equipped with a lively youthfulness recognizable in the smell, contributing quite pleasant fusel oils with subtle notes of gasoline. Also shows medicinal smoky hints alongside many tropical fruits and herbs. Impressively complex and tasty!

Nice bottling. If it had maybe a few more degrees. Fruity with mango, honey, spices, a bit medicinal, very slightly smoky, fine tea note. Unfortunately, the finish is too weak. Still liked it a lot.

Wow, this is really something! Everything you expect from a Lucia. Beautiful intense tropical, fruity, slightly dirty, woody, and spicy notes. For the young age and the price back then, an absolute knockout.

Oh how beautifully the scent fills the room. It is a floral-fruity-spicy. But there is also a distinct apple cider vinegar note, not unpleasant. Fruit goes towards banana and overripe mandarin. Slight vanilla and woody aromas. On the palate then little fruity, rather spicy woody, almost a salty hint. Goes into something slightly bitter, like wet green tea leaves. But also slightly sweet, maybe blackcurrant or green mango. On the finish remains green tea and yes, green mango. Like it.

On the nose, esters and fruit dominate.. on the palate first a short sweetness that immediately turns into black tea, slightly bitter and woody... the finish is pleasantly creamy, woody and slightly leather-flavored! A fairly complex noble rum.

Very intense and fruity on the nose. On the palate then somewhat less than expected each time. The finish is medium length, alcohol well integrated. But overall a bit too mild. Complaining at a high level :-) ...

Only 6 years were more than enough to produce such a nice, balanced and slightly herbal rum! Pineapple, mango and banana well mixed with black tea and a light medicine note..truly noteworthy!
