A great harmony of (green) fruit and woody spice on the nose. After standing for an hour, a wonderful complexity develops that you could sniff forever. Elegant, spicy and (despite the reduction) not too thin on the palate. Very dry. There are also a few floral notes. Unfortunately, the finish is relatively unspectacular and cannot quite maintain the high level of the nose. A piece of liquid history! However, the finish is too thin for a top rating and I feel it lacks that certain something.

This is a spot on rum and I really like the roasted oak from nose to finish. Wonderfully fruity with spices. It does benefit from resting 15-20 minuttes. A big surprise having the opportunity to taste such an old rum.

Wow, powerful and expressive rum. Balanced mixture between citric and tropical-sweet fruit notes, wood influence, spices...very harmonious without being boring. Really good.

Pleasantly matured but clearly reduced Clarendon with classic old Jamaica profile. On the nose fermented fruit, banana, some wood and a gentle herbal note. On the palate soft and dry with spice, slightly earthy nuances and a fine bitterness. The 46% provide a rounded, drinkable profile but clearly take away complexity and depth that one might expect from such an old vintage. Overall interesting and charming, but noticeably held back by the dilution.
