Nobody expects a Demerara to taste like a Caroni, but that's exactly the trick here — reviewers nicknamed it the "Demeroni". The nose is all mechanic's-workshop grit: rubber, tar, smoke. Demeroni! I dreamed of tasting this beast! Thanks Rodolphe for the sample. On the nose, typical Caroni mechanical workshop, no mistake, but then tropical fruits and orange that rather remind of Jamaica. You can feel a tiny bit of dilution. On the palate, the orange stands out, but the Caroni side comes right after. The finish has a bit of bitterness, fruits, and a smoky/cigar box side. Not much Demerara in this rum except in the finish. Tasted with a chestnut birthday cake and... perfect match! What happened? Probably a Caroni/Monymusk barrel lost at DDL. Fascinating! The empty glass the next day offers Demerara aromas, making it all confusing...

Blindly I would have bet everything on a Caroni here. Awesome surprise! But for a top rating, it lacks some complexity on the palate.

Unbelievably delicious! What is this?! A perfect blend of the best from Caroni, as well as Diamond and Angostura distilleries? Unbelievably awesome what a potpourri of citrus fruits, milk chocolate and burnt rubber, as well as spices is offered here. Extremely cool!! Could be a bit more complex and intense, but that's nitpicking at a high level!😅

It's a very beautiful profile. While the nose is a bit dark, you find lovely indulgent fruits to balance the more robust notes. A perfect mix between Caroni and Demerara.

The "Demeroni" comes on the nose subtly with dirty Caroni notes, some rubber, tar and smoke. Along with dried fruits, caramel and spices. Overall relatively much fruit. On the palate then spicy, dirty with a hint of fruit.

A very good rum and also very interesting! Guyana meets Caroni. Or the other way around, we’re not sure. But one thing’s for sure: it’s damn good. Complex, pastry-like, citrus but with that bike tube note accompanying us all along. I really like it.
