27.04.2019 A relaxing evening with good samples and bottles and a few friends. Notes. Light in colour. Nose: Intense, light wood, ester, banana, overripe, spice. Palate: Intense, balanced, light wood, ester, light smoke, pineapple, warm, light nutts. Finish: long and warm, balanced, ester, pineapple, wood, light smoke.

Great old Long Pond. Fruity with a light bite on the nose ... some ester and a delicious sweetness . Alcohol very well integrated... On the palate you notice the full power ... it floods the mouth with fruit and wood flavors, slightly creamy feeling. Long finish that is more on the fruity side ... less woody and bitter than expected. Great stuff ... I'm very curious to see what it delivers in May Tai.

Ein Long Pond wie ich ihn mag. Eine Fruchtkorbnase mit etwas Lack und Ester, der anschließend am Gaumen genau das folgt, was die Nase verspricht. Cremig verteilt er sich, um anschließend eine Aromenvielfalt von Süße bis zur Würze alles bietet. Der Abgang ist sehr lang und ausgewogen! Von solchen Abfüllungen gerne mehr 😃

Fruchtige Nase: Ananas, Mango, Papaya, etwas Leim/ Ester, Baumnuss, Vanille, Zimt, schön ausgewogen Gaumen: eigentlich gleich wie in der Nase, wieder viel tropisch Fruchtig, etwas Ester, etwas Nuss, etwas Vanille und Holz, Alkohol für 68%! gut eingebaut

Mmh, difficult. Banana, vanilla, nutty, citrus fruits, vanilla. Alcohol well integrated, nice warm mouthfeel. On the other hand, it has a bitter, furry off-note for me. A little lacking in play. Somehow it seems one-dimensional to me, which does not fully compensate for the high alcohol content. Exceptional for a rum from 2004. But somehow not my cup of coffee.
