Jack Tar Caroni Old Music! Series Chutney Edition 1998
Tar leads the way, but there's more here than diesel and rubber. Under that industrial hit come toasted oak, dark chocolate, vanilla sweetness, allspice and a flash of citrus and tropical fruit. One taster called it a "sweet technical" Caroni, and that mix is the appeal. At 63.5% it's dry, oily and long-finishing. Classic 1998 Caroni character, if a fairly middle-of-the-pack one for the distillery.

15.05.2020 Went out for a nice dinner bringing some bottles. Notes Dark to very dark in colour. Nose Wood, roasted, light caramel, tar, faint rubber, fruits, citrus. Palate Oily, wood, roasted, raisin, citrus, tar, rubber, faint coffee, chocolate, faint licorice. Finish Long and warm, wood, light tar, rubber, fruits, light anise.

Schöner 98er Caroni. Dreckige Noten von vorwiegend Teer und etwas Benzin und Gummi treffen auf Holz, Gewürze, Vanillesüsse, dezente Fruchtnoten - ein rundes Profil, vielschichtig, akzentuiert, ohne zu austauschbar zu werden. Sehr guter 1998er Caroni.
