Pineapple/strawberry gummy bears on the nose to the power of 10, but also Campino strawberry caramel vanilla yoghurt sweets 🤣 Then also pineapple, strawberry sweets, green sour granny smith apple and mint & glacier ice candy. Incredibly fruity and intense after gummy bears & Wick ice candies, as well as these Campino yoghurt strawberry candies. Awesome stuff!

Tasting done at Rhum Fest 2023 Slightly disappointed at first compared to a Savanna. But it stays on the palate and surprisingly a real sweet and soft pleasure.

A great rum! Savanna is moving more and more into my connoisseur focus. This association of red tropical fruits, simply wonderful! Even if it doesn't seem to be a Grand Arome: This rum doesn't have to hide behind the Grand Arome from Rum Nation (RX7316) which I highly appreciate and is aged one year longer. Crosstasting 14.05.2023: RX9388: 75/100 RX300: 76/100 RX14156:87/100 RX7316: 89/100 RX308: 90/100 RX219: 92/100 Update 2025-12-16: Small Savanna crosstasting with instant assessment, so just briefly: Previous rating remains without hesitation. Awesome stuff!

A great Savanna from CDI. I like it much more the second time I taste it! Fruity with lots of esters, strawberry yoghurt, creamy and very intense on the palate. Unfortunately, the finish drops off. Strawberry yoghurt and strawberry brioche.

Very tasty Savanna. Very fruity (strawberries and red fruits) beautifully floral and flowery. You can enjoy it for a very long time because it is a lot of fun on the nose and palate. Give it 30 minutes and it will reward you 😊

Wow, there's a lot going on right at the nose and you might think you're dealing with a Jamaican. Also on the palate super intense with tropical fruits, esters, chewing gum and mint. Totally hits me and I really like it!

Little Savanna GA & HERR cross tasting: Nose starts of rather closed up compared to the rest of the class. Wood and some esters and solvent. More power on the palate right away. Esters, strawberry, wood and some sweetness. Balanced pretty well with enough punch and edges. Nice.

Ohhh, what a shame I missed that one! I'd love a whole bottle of it. Very interesting nose, has something of vegetables. Like a wooden cutting board on which vegetables were cut for a long time. On the palate with notes of strawberry, chewing gum, even more fruit. I'd blindly guess a HERR finish, even though there's no hint of it anywhere.

Wonderful Savanna for the late evening hours. Considering the performance offered, this Savanna is a really cool value-for-money pick that also works as an easy sipper. All classic GA markers are distinctly present.

4 Savannas in a cross comparison: Winner is the CDI 2007, nice intense GA profile with slight wood and good balance. Close behind is the Rum Nation with a similar profile but a bit more one-dimensional. 3rd place and winner of the heart: Easy Peasy from Swell, despite the young age clearly a GA with everything that belongs, surprisingly good to drink and round. Far behind is the Unshared for Germany, quite boring in direct comparison. But it is also a Traditional.

15.02.2020 Had a nice evening with dinner and everything and after that a nice little tasting. Notes. Medium dark colour. Nose Intense, fresh, wood, light roasted, fruity, cherry, light caramel. Palate Intense, round, wood, fruity, cherry, herbs, light ester. Finish Long, wood, light ester, cherry, herbs.

Great Savanna tasting with Artur. A very beautiful nose, vegetal and fermented, with dry herbs and leather. The fermented side is quite present on the palate, maybe a bit too much. Despite that, the palate remains balanced. Cedar wood, bitters and a bit of olive. The finish is long with dry, balanced and persistent aromas. The wood dominates a bit.

Incredibly intense, strawberries, esters, red fruit compote, sour cherry on the nose. On the palate, tobacco and very strong bourbon vanilla come through, the finish is smoky, bacon-y... the absolute hammer that CdI is bringing here!

What an intense fruit bomb! From the first nosing you know you are dealing with a high ester rum, which for me dives even into the soury brine / pickles area. There is definitely some fermented stuff too. On the palate, it's again very fruity, but also quite sweet and refreshing.

Amazing, a Savanna HERR aged! The gummy bears not as intense anymore, but the cask comes in a brilliant symbiosis, absolutely delicious. The 61.6% are not noticeable. Very nice warm finish with fresh mint that lasts long.

Nose: sweet grain, grass, herbs, slight sharpness of the alcohol Palate: herbs but also honey, almonds, slightly metallic taste on the tongue, alcohol not very well integrated The strawberries that many write about here are overpowered by the alcohol in my nose. On the palate in the finish after the metallic taste disappears, it's pretty cool.

For me, Savanna is by far the best I've had in the glass so far, coming with a full aroma load of Jogurette, Mon Cherie and a spicy freshness (fruit basket mixed with chopped mint). A dream stuff!

I really like this sample- it’s like Jamaica but more sweetly like with marshmallows:) The color is dark gold light brown. The nose is mix of esters with sweet vanilla fruit candies. The taste is very good- esters, hint of wood and then a lot of warmth. I can feel the taste even after few minutes. I would like to have a bottle of this home - I am really enjoying this.

Exceptionally unusual rum in nose and taste - strawberry candies for kids, a bit of menthols, a bit of esters, overripe fruit (pineapple) and a sharpness at the end. I wouldn't want to drink the whole bottle, but if you want to show someone what rum can be, ideal chance.

Savanna Distillery 2007 Compagnie des Indes Bottled for Germany Distilled: 05.2007 Bottled: 06.2019 Aged 12 Years 61.6% Cask RRS197 One of 180 Bottles Molasses Rum, Column Still Origin: La Réunion Color: Bright dark amber Smell: My first impression is "fruity toffee." The smell is mild, aromatic, and fruity-esteric. Smells like Mon Cherie, chocolate, and tobacco. Taste: fruity-sweet in the mouth with chestnut, toffee, and tobacco. Full-bodied and spicy when swallowed. The taste is complex with chestnut, sandalwood, chewing tobacco, toffee, caramel, cocoa, and wood with a slight fruity sweetness (cherry) in the background. Overall very intense, you almost feel like you can chew it. Finish: very long and spicy with sandalwood aromas. Dry and clean in the aftertaste. Warms from deep inside. Conclusion: A great rum... surprising that with only 180 bottles it’s still not sold out. 89 points
