Grass, hay and green apple lead here, with a licorice-and-pepper spiciness and a medicinal, almost phenolic edge that divides people. It's a cane-juice agricole from Savanna, and several regulars note it doesn't taste like their usual Savanna. Light-bodied with a touch of caramel and a long grassy finish. One taster called the palate "distinctive phenolic and licorice."

Smell: Young, fresh, initially fruity with apple, then vegetal. Sugarcane and rotten fruit. Grassy aromas dominate, also eucalyptus and anise. Taste: Subtly sweet in the mouth, some caramel and sugarcane, then increasingly spicy and herbal. Spicy when swallowing with pepper and licorice. Herbal aromas come fully to the forefront. Finish: Medium length and a bit odd. Spicy, sharp, alcoholic and medicinal. Dry with an overly long bitter herbal broth aftertaste. Conclusion: Another rum where the vintage (Millésime) differs from the date.

A rather atypical Savanna with an aroma play of young wood, olives, green apple, grass, hay... Agricole after all. But without the Savanna aromas I cherish. Agricole, green apple, olives with a certain medicinal touch. I don't warm up to this Savanna. Thanks for the sample @Rod

#4214 This one is really well priced compared to what you get. Nice and fruity with wonderful Agricole notes with some added light wood and spices. The profile is light and I would have loved a higher ABV. Draws nice curtains and the empty glass has some medicinal and vegetal notes.

A nice Agricole from savanna, with a profile all their own, this isn't the West Indies. It's more vegetal and the cognac breeding adds a lot of sweetness. It's really not bad, but it's not the type of agricole I prefer. Basically, Savanna isn't what I'd go for.

A rather strange Agricole! On one hand the classic aromas with yeast, grass, herbs and hay, then peppery parts and on the other hand something artificial and medicinal! Doesn’t really fit together! I can’t even find the Savanna style here!

Here we have an atypical rum from Savanna that brings some uncommon notes to the table, but overall, I really enjoyed it. The palate stands out with distinctive phenolic and licorice notes, while the finish is long, leaning more toward grassy and herbal tones.
