A very fruity nose with tropical fruit, yellow fruit, caramel, young wood, leather and old varnished wood. A lively start on the palate, but the fruity aromas rise quickly, accompanied by spices and wood. The finish is long, with fruit and cedar wood (cigar box).

8,8:On the nose, tropical fruits like banana, coconut, peaches, orange, some glue, light esters, cognac hints, toasted wood with caramel, dark chocolate, fresh, minty molasses, dark with black tea, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, the wood is nutty, slightly resinous, the molasses is dark with licorice, burnt sugar, pastry join, rubber and dried fruits. 9:On the palate, the attack is fruity with mango, banana, red fruits, later citrus and dried apricots, medicinal with esters, the wood is toasted, creamy with cream toffee, pastry, spicy vanilla and baking spices, as the molasses is candied, grassy, minty, flowery, dark with black tea. 8,9:The finish is long, dry&tannic, slightly dirty, fruity with red, tropical, citrus fruits, the molasses is minty, grassy with hay, dark with licorice and black tea, toasted wood notes like dark chocolate, coffee, roasted nuts, caramel, smoky, spicy, cognac barrel is obvious with leather and dried fruits, there are some sugar cane hints. Tropically aged low ester LP with a lot of fruit on the nose. In addition to the typical banana in various stages of ripeness, peach, grape, red fruit and dried fruit. A hint of mango on the palate. Also on the palate: some astringency, tannins and bitterness - but still pleasant and in a nice combination with the fruity cognac finish. I Like.

A lovely Long Pond with a beautiful aromatic palette. The nose starts with light esters and glue, then reveals a lovely basket of tropical fruits (banana, pineapple, citrus) that scent the nostrils. The profile then becomes more caramelized, spicy, woody and buttery, gaining in sweetness but losing a little intensity. The palate returns to pretty exotic fruits (mango, papaya, banana), accompanied by spices (cinnamon, vanilla), caramel and a woodiness that has a slight influence on the final finish. The medicinal touch reveals prominent esters that offer a complex, elegant profile, with a gourmet, creamy mouthfeel. The alcohol is well integrated. The finish is long but much more marked by the cask: cognac, spices, licorice, dark chocolate and raisin contrast with the exuberance of exotic fruit and medicinal funk. The profile is drier but still fragrant. A Long Pond not as extreme as the series suggests, but rather refined, aesthetic and very well mastered.

Incredibly cool nose of fully ripe tropical fruit, peach, ester and fresh caramel with lemon balm. On the palate, the 22y in the cask come into their own and complement the profile aromatically with cinnamon, red berries, dark caramel, lemon balm and light tannins from the wood, as well as mango Roiboos tea. Very round, dry, not too funky but not too thin either. I really like it, could do with a little less wood but overall really delicious.

Delicious low ester Jamaican. Pronounced banana on the nose, relatively creamy in the mouth and then dry-tannic on the finish. Good overall combo, very smooth, doesn't offend anywhere. Reminds a bit of Cognac. Good length on the finish.

This one is very enjoyable. In that it reminds me somewhat of the 2000 VRWs. While this is more leaning towards darker notes and less fruity, I find it dangerously „sippable“- just as the VRWs. 😁

I just picken up this bottle today and put in an order for the HJC and can't wait to get that one for my collection. This ITP is a very well balanced 22 year old Jamaican rum from Long Pond. You may want to add a few drops of water to release the full potential of this rum. Though a bit expensive I still think the cost matches the quality.

A wonderful symbiosis of tropical matured Jamaica rum with low ester content and finishing in an expressive Cognac cask. Especially on the palate, this creates an exceptionally multi-layered spectacle, whose sweet-sour start is quickly replaced by a powerful polished oak club with a bit of menthol, then turns back to the fruity region before finally releasing darker aromas like leather, cocoa and coffee. If the consistently fine finish would now also shoot off such a firework of aromas, I would have arrived in spirit heaven.

On the nose initially quite a bit of glue, some varnish, wood, vanilla, spices and tropical fruits. Despite the age also something fresh. On the palate - little surprise - quite a bit of wood, spices, tropical fruits and light esters. For me a good tropical ITP with a strong barrel influence. The price-performance ratio is not so great though.

Tasted at the Whisky & Rum festival, the 27th of october, 2023. Plantation had a stand, and had some goodies behind the table! Plenty of flavours due to a rather high estercount, with notes of ripe fruits, oak and molasses

Nose of tropical ripe fruits, peach, ester and fresh caramel. On the palate the 22 years in the cask come into play and complement the profile aromatically, red berries, dark caramel, and light tannins from the wood. Very round, dry, not too funky but also not too thin. I like it very much, could tolerate a bit less wood but overall really tasty.

Pleasantly fruity on the nose and a fresh sweetness in the air like on a plantation. On the palate, the fruit notes then give way somewhat to the oak, and in the finish the rum loses a bit, as the aftertaste is basically just fuzzy and woody on the palate and leaves only little fruit aroma in the mouth.

And another Jamaican after that, with significantly less ester. Tropical fruits, especially banana, are still recognizable here, otherwise it also has a slight sweetness, caramel on the nose and vanilla on the palate, and some wood is also noticeable.

A Long Pond that is surprisingly round and personally I like it very much. A nice balance of fruity notes and the woodiness of the cask. The price of the bottle is certainly debatable.

Very enjoyable sipper. As a long pond fan this hits well my prefernces. It's very fruity, sweet with a dark chocolate note,.some funk not too much, a bit flowery. Alcohol barely noticeable. only downside for me is a finish which is not too long. Thanks Martin S for the sample.

Tried at 'Rum House Caribbean'. Fantastic ITP from Plantation with the best funky ester notes, dried Caribbean fruits on the nose and in the mouth. The very intense flavors also underline the tropical aging after various spices.

Extreme is always extreme, and although I still have many left, I have always been thrilled so far. No different with this Long Pond, which is a wonderfully balanced piece, intense fruit and oak. Gorgeous.

No big surprise, the typical solvents of Jamaica offer themselves to the nose immediately. But the tropical fruit salad makes its appearance very quickly. The nose is very elegant with a touch of honey very greedy. The whole is very pleasant with scents of light spices and woody. In mouth, it is in the frame of the nose, very fruity, again on tropical fruits and strawberry. It's very light and balanced with a soft woody taste. The few 50% are perfectly melted. It is greedy and drinks like whey. Nice length more on the coffee.

I love jamaican rums and i also love cognacs so i'm in heaven! I advise to try it also with a dash of water. Estery and even petroly, spicy with all the fruits shining bright and long thanks to the cognac finish.

Long Pond Plantation 3 ITP pleasantly surprised me. On the palate, I taste a lot of tropical fruit, a bit of caramel and spices. The strength of the barrel fullness is pronounced but balanced. The aftertaste is long and pleasantly dry, almost like a good cognac. Great rum for calm tasting.

For me a very contradictory LP. You can smell quite a lot of esters although weaker compared to other LPs. On the palate smooth, cognac stands out, dark bananas, sweet, light alcohol but well integrated, burns only lightly. Conclusion: excellent rum but considering the price and unavailability I would choose another.

Now, this was tasted after the stce velier 2019. This is nice, even though the ferrand finish did not integrate at all for me. But, this is three points better at almost 4 times the price. In terms of value for money this is a stinker
