"What a beast," one taster wrote, and that captures it: a tropically-aged Worthy Park pot still full of pineapple, overripe banana, spice and a nail-polish ester edge, with tobacco, leather and dark chocolate underneath. This eum both disappointed and delighted me during its time in the (half-bought) bottle. It was both exhilarating and depressing. Bordering on the 90s on good days. On bad days it was in the 70s. Funky, a bit smoky. I hate and love it.

Another complex Jamaican. Esters and tropical fruits storm ahead, accompanied by glue/nail polish. At the same time vanilla, tobacco, honey and cocoa/chocolate. Fermented fruit or musty in the mouth, but lots of spice and toasty. A certain bitterness accompanies the drinking experience, which is why cocoa and coffee are present, which is quite good for the rum, making it more complex and therefore I like it a bit better. A tad too dry for me, otherwise a higher rating would have been possible. Overall, however, a pretty good rum.

A great rum. 5 out of 10 on the Jamaican madness scale. Banana bread, caramel and fruit. Strong and yet balanced. My Habation Velier WP ranking: (1) 2007, (2) 2005 and (3) 2006, but all three are great.

Outstanding Worthy Park. Compared to the 2006 release, a bit wilder, but by no means in a negative sense: here the complexity and depth of the classic WP profile come into their own. Is the alcohol perfectly integrated? Rather no, so plus points are lost here, but at this point we are already talking very high level.

Herbaceous nose with overripe tropical fruit and mint candy. The palate is lively, with alcohol, herbaceous notes, mint candy and overripe tropical fruit. The finish is short, thin but well-balanced, the oak only coming in at the end. There's almost no hint of ageing here, and the freshness and fruit are superbly pleasant.

Nice entry WP in the barrel strength range. My first reasonable rum after 3 weeks break. Makes you want more, even if the finish is quite short. Very mild and round, typical for WP. Great PLV at the issue price.

A very nice and fruity rum. Needs to stand for 15-30 minutes or add a drop of water to release all the flavours. The nose the following day is wonderful.

A lovely Worthy Park. I havnt tried many but I'm really enjoying this one. On the nose it's very fruity. Tasting, I'm getting more fruits, pineapple in particular, then vanilla, esters, chocolate and a touch of wood. It has a reasonable level of complexity with a medium length finish. Worth a try.

Small WP X-tasting during bottling: very tasty rum with various tropical fruits and esters/glue on one side and woody-spicy aromas on the other. Both harmonize super well and are complemented on the palate by espresso and dark chocolate.

Retasting today and keeping the score. Ripe banana and caramel on the nose and smoky leathery taste. Quite nice, root spices and leathery finish stand out. Water brings out more of ripe fruits.

If you can blame Worthy Park for one thing, it's that many bottlings are often very similar and therefore interchangeable due to the consistently good quality of the distillate. Here, however, an excellent cask selection was proven, which in combination with tropical aging created, in my eyes, a great rum between tropical fruits, exotic spices and toasty-mild wood entry with ideally integrated alcohol at the same time. WP in top form!

Not that I've tried an excessive number, but this is a standout Worthy Park for me. But as I said ... I haven't tasted as many as some. Banana, pineapple, Jamaica spice me allspice, wood, some ester. yummy.

This Jamaican is more on the spicier side, especially on the palate. The overripe fruit takes a backseat here. There are earthy notes of tobacco and wet, fresh wood. Dry and well-integrated alcohol.

In a direct comparison, the Habitation Velier RX272 WPL 2007 against the RX311 WP 2005 Both are very tasty, but in a direct comparison I like the RX a little better. Both also make a good impression as mixers.

A Very diverse nose with spices, dried fruit, tea, burnt sugar and glue. The taste brings along some leather, tobacco, dark chocolate, marmalade and more spices. It ends with a medium and buttery finish. My favorite Worthy Park so far!

First dram from the bottle and because of that, i did let this rum sit in the glass for a while before the review. On the nose: Esters, glue, bananas, woody notes and spicy notes like allspice notes. Taste: Woody notes, esters, spicy notes like light peppery notes, light coffee notes. Pineapples and bananas are blended in there. Little bit of leather and tobacco notes. The integration of alcohol could be slightly better. Finish: Spices like peppers and anise. Leather, woody notes and little bit of pineapples. Medium finish. Overall the palate is nicely complex and quite dark, but mouthfeel was quite light.

So far the best Worthy Park bottling I've had in the glass. A bit funky, slightly fruity. Lots of spices, some wood. Nicely balanced, only the alcohol could be a bit better integrated here.

Yeah, what does this rum want to be now...? I've tried 1.5cl three days in a row, letting it rest in the glass for different lengths of time beforehand. Does it want to be a spicy Beenleigh or rather a wild Hampden? In the glass, it first draws very long, oily streaks until the rich drops meet again at the bottom of the glass. That already catches the eye. On the nose, it arrives totally undecided. Nice spice, strong aromas of licorice, anise, and salty sea air. Along with that? Yeah, what is that actually? Ester, funk, fruits like pineapple and mangosteen, the alcohol stings a bit on the mucous membranes. On the tongue then, well. A bit clueless. Pineapple with mango in a barrel with salted herrings and BBQ spice? No matter what it wants to be or should have become – it’s good as it is. A wonderful example of the complexity and diversity in the world of rum. Like 😎

Tasting at "Basecamp" on 28.08.2026 Nose on an adventure👃: I sense lots of pineapple, lots of lime. There's also the scent of banana, vanilla. Overall, good with esters! Tongue on an adventure 🥃: I taste a super delicious rum with "okay" punch! There's funk, good pineapple, & there's banana. There's also some darker layers of espresso, dark chocolate & barrel! I definitely also get a salty sensation! The tail of the story💫: short-medium taste with lots of tropical fruit and salty sticks! 🇯🇲 rarely disappoints!

Very nice release from Velier once again. Lots of fruit, a honeyed side, woodiness and chili, chocolate, leather, esters... pure happiness. Funky but not too much, which makes it a chill DR for any occasion. I like it a lot.

Comes wonderfully floral-fruity to the nose. Passion fruit with the freshness of tangerine, also a little cherry. But also a little spicy with nail polish. Now still spicy, vanilla and a little smoky woody, in the direction of tobacco so.On the palate now the spiciness prevails. Anise with clove and tobacco. But also something fruity tart-sweet joins in, not quite, but most likely pineapple. Salty iodine makes it a bit funky. In the finish leathery spicy.A very well balanced rum. Something of everything. Likes.

Poured from a sample. An older bottling of Worthy Park from Habitation Velier. Strong tropical fruits and esters throughout, with a big undercurrant of barrel notes (spices, oak, chocolate, etc.). I prefer the HV Worthy Park 2009 to this, with this lacking a bit of complexity compared to that bottling. Overall, a very good rum!

Fruits and especially pastries on the nose, delicious! On the palate, also pastries and a bit of spice, unfortunately without much depth. The finish is a bit flat. Too bad, I prefer other WP aged on the continent.

Wild Worthy Park, that features plenty of estery notes, dark chocolate and typical Jamaica rotten fruits. Alcohol is a bit stingy and beess water to balance out, but sometimes you just want that rough edge.

The mystery sample from Nguyen: Habitation Velier - Forsyths WP 2005 - 57.8% Distilled in 2005 at Worthy Park, this rum marks the revival of the oldest Jamaican distillery still in operation (first distillation in 1670!). After 50 years of closure, Worthy Park reopened in 2005, and this vintage is the first produced after its reopening. Distilled in a Pot Still and aged 10 years on site, it was bottled in 2015 under the Habitation Velier range, which stands out for the transparency and completeness of the information provided on its labels. Notably, the angel's share here is impressive: more than 64% of the volume evaporated. A rum with the typical softness and roundness of Worthy Park!

Very decent Worthy Park, maybe even one of the best from this distillery. On the nose, harmonious fruity tones with vanilla and honey, on the palate it unfolds into a beautiful fruit bomb with a bit of tobacco and mint. Buy it while you can still get it for reasonable money.

On the nose first flows a wave of fruit (pineapple) and slightly fermented fruit. Gradually comes out a slight sweetness and some ester, very subtle...On the palate first flushes a sweetness that fills the mouth oily creamy! Then develops a pleasant spiciness... the sweetness becomes slightly sour and overripe banana joins in!The alcohol is super integrated!In the finish remains the spice and the banana flavor.... an excellent rum, I am thrilled!!!

Not quite my taste but a very solid complex rum. Slightly wet but round, glue, vanilla, tobacco and leather, a bit fruity like Annas. On the palate it's woody, spicy, toasty, glue with vanilla, leather and tobacco. Nice finish in the end.

After serving, the nose is very greedy, with rather fruity aromas and a rather aromatic nose. On the palate, it's less round and sweet, more harsh, with notes more related to aging, woodiness and a hint of espresso. The finish is average, with harsher, animal notes.

Pleasant, soft nose, (dark) caramel, typical ester funk (not high-ester!), some fresh sugarcane, alcohol very well integrated. Funk/Hogo, (over)ripe pineapple, overripe banana, burnt caramel. Typical WP - all in all a very rounded thing.

Nose: Shoe polish, banana, marzipan, strawberry, black pepper, apple, raisin Mouth: Apple, marzipan, brown sugar, melon, grape, bubblegum, toffee Finish: Sustains for a medium finish with a gradual decline in flavour Really solid and complex rum from the lower range of esters. The nose has some classic Jamaican notes, but the palate is a combination of a strong apple pie flavour with a fruit salad. Alcohol is very well integrated and the rum has this creaminess that just has you yearning for more. Highly enjoyable.

3rd blind taste looking for the best Worthy “the secret distillery” Park. This time we have: H. Velier 2005, 57,8% OB Conquete 2007 WPM, 55% RA 2007, 59,1% C: D Gold N: Thin with light esters. Seawater and overripe banana. Pickled blend of granny apples, peaches and unpeeled fresh celery. Good nose, though not better than the ´06 or ´07 vintages. 20 min. The nose is still thin but also more converged. I get a nice blend of coastal saltiness, peach, celery, red apple and subtle fumes of nail polish remover. Enough esters to be happy. M: So powerful. The thinness is gone! Sweet speyside whisky. The nose is mirrored here. Add coffee and floral notes as well F: Not too long with spices and gentle sourness. B: Yes of course Luca, I’m still waiting for the 2008, 2009… and so on vintages?

No doubt this is from Jamaica. Very fruity and slightly acidic with notes of petroleum and acetone in the finish. If you like Worthy Park, you will also like this bottle - although, don't expect it to bring something new to the table, since it is very much "just another Worthy Park" which isn't bad ofc., because it is definitely high quality, especially for it's RRP.

Very pleasant on the nose. Not scratchy to drink. The highlight from my point of view hits about 3 minutes after the swallow with a very good fruity taste in the mouth. Totally unexpected but a very welcome surprise.

The simple reason being this was one of the first rums Worthy Park distilled and I fancy they can produce something better. Well there is the gauntlet thrown down to them....
