8,2:On the nose, it is round and balanced, smooth, first of all, pleasant smoke is saying hello, as we notice ex bourbon ageing and charred wood with caramel, orange, tobacco, sweet spices mainly, vanilla and nuts then. When aired, cognac finish gives its mark with dryness, as we notice dried fruits, as becomes more woody as before. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is soft, even sweet, but also woody and smoky, we could reply the nose notes with an orange, caramel and tobacco, then there are nuts, vanilla, some spiciness and dried fruits and dry cognac finish with its mark. Pleasantly round and tasty. 8:The finish is quite long, dry with dried fruits, woody/sweet with tannins, orange and ended with tobacco, smoky notes..

Overly sweetened! Can not be called rum, as it has 35g/l added sugar. The nose is mostly about sugar and vanilla. At the palate the sugar and vanilla is still there with some taste of cognac which lifts it up a bit.

02.10.2016 - 03.10.2016 A great extended weekend with rum friends. This was a nice event and lots of space between the tables. Only problem was the level of English at some of the exhibitors. Here are the rums we tasted at the event itself, nothing truly unique but we had fun. This is the second half of the tastings. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Wood, light roasted, fruity, peach, light floral, vanilla. Palate Sweet, wood, roasted, spice, fruity, dried fruit, light caramel, berries. Finish Short to medium, wood, light chocolate, caramel, sweet.

Cognac already comes through, coffee, chocolate, no bitterness to the sweetness. A little too sweet for me, but you can drink it well.

Sweetish, but not as sweet as described. Spicy, smoky. Surprisingly little cognac flavor. A bit of coffee. Not a true revelation, but a tasty rum sipper. Happy to have the bottle I have, but won't buy a second one. Note: I can understand the fascination with Finnish in all kinds of barrels, but for me it's no longer an important component.

Beautiful brown color, very pronounced woody nose bordering on "smoky", empyromatic mouth and finishes on wood. Very pleasant cognac finish!! An exceptional oxidation on the oak barrel and the cognac!

Even though it's only bottled at 40°, I expected more punch and slightly drier, probably influenced by the cognac cask finish. On the nose: quite fruity (grape) and vanilla. On the palate: quite smooth, similar to the nose impression. Medium finish. Good rum overall but too smooth and lacks a bit of character for me.

In the nose there is a sweetness and fruit. But it is dominated by barrel and wood smell. It also seems to have a split smell. The taste is actually surprisingly sweet. The alcohol is not tasted and it appears quite balanced. Without having great depth though.

Red grapes and a hint of cherry. Light barrel, caramel. Coconut. Pours dark golden. Mouthfeel starts fruity then finishes in washed out caramel. Not a ton of character. Definitely wouldn't pay too dollars for this, but a decent Abuelo variation if you're into that. Short finish. Some plum. Glass at Miramar in Panama City.

I vave it 9 because I had tasting with salt chocolate. The combination made it so much better. First sip a little and bite small piece of salty chocolate, after the chocolate disolves in mouth drink the rum. This takes the taste to another level!

Good mix of sugar and fruity flavors, a bit of wood from the barrel. Heavy grape from the cognac finish. Fairly certain this is dosed, but it is smooth and fairly mild.

My new favorite rum. The taste on the palate evolves over time and leaves a very good and long taste in the mouth. It is smooth but complex. A caress mixed with the know-how of the producers. To be enjoyed at every opportunity!

Rum with an interesting woody side. You can clearly feel the finish in cognac cask. Very unfortunate that it has added sugar, because without that it would have been very good and deserved a much better rating. Nevertheless, the only sweetened rum I can keep drinking without it putting me off.
