Poisson Père Labat - Soleil

Fresh sugarcane, cut grass and a light citrus lift — a classic Marie-Galante agricole with a soft vanilla edge from a few months in French oak. At 55% it's built for ti'punch, and members say it shines there, but several sip it neat too and find it fruity and balanced. One taster flags a faint ammonia note on the nose; most don't mind.

Absolutely crass good agricole! Price performance really extremely good and the few months in the barrel enhance the already good rhum enormously. A board in ti punch!

Lovely fruity on the palate. Something on the nose we don't like: I get maybe ammonia and BBB says tailsey bandaids? Still a good thing.

Ancienne dégustation, Je ne suis pas fan de père Labat mais cette fois c’était plus équilibré vers les agrumes. Sympa en ti punchw

Marie Galante

Avg Rating 8.4/10 over 420 Rums

Marie Galante is a small round island off Guadeloupe that punches far above its size in rum. Known as the island of a hundred windmills, it makes powerful, high-proof agricole, often bottled at 59 percent and up, from three working distilleries. For agricole lovers it is one of the most characterful corners of the French rum world.
