This is definitely a heavy Caroni, but in a totally different way than the regular one. The nose has the tupivmcsl rubber and fuel and tar to it. There is also a heavy note with alcohol and tobacco and spice with a tad of sherry if you leave it to rest. The palate has some natural sweetness to it with sherry and wine. Rubber and smoky oak and tobacco follows in the next sips. The finish is extremely long and heated from the proof, at the same time heavy and with smoke and tobacco. The following day the glass is heavy with oak and smoke.

Not Caroni. The markers like rubber or tar are there. The rum seems heavy, woody, also mentholated. On the palate, it's powerful. Rubber, pepper. Woody well present. Then a very perceptible and very pleasant vanilla sweetness. Warm, smoky finish. Tobacco appears. Very pleasant length.

A very beautiful rum. The integration of the alcohol is excellent and the 55% suits it wonderfully. The empyreumatic side of Caroni is there without being excessive. You get burnt plastic, rubber and a touch of smoke at the end of the mouth but overall it is round, flattering and relatively accessible. A slight acidity at the end of the mouth that can be found on some TDLs reminiscent of red fruit. I'll buy the bottle without hesitation.
