Pour it over cola and you've basically got liquid movie-night popcorn — that's where most people land with this. Real popcorn is macerated into a 12-year Barbados rum, so the buttery, caramelized, sweet-corn note is genuine, not chemical-tasting. It's very sweet, low on actual rum character, and works as a dessert pour or in a Popcorn Daiquiri. Neat, the sweetness and some heat take over.

Not a classic rum but very tasty with cola! Perfect companion for a cinema evening. Tastes strongly of caramel, butter and popcorn. Also delicious as a popcorn old fashioned.

This one is a “rum” for fun only. Way to sweet and boring for me. Nice to mix it with a coke😝. #freeway. For the sugarbabes out there: You’ll get a more sweeter experience, if you add some salt. 🤭

Clearly flavored rum that hardly has anything in common with the classic Barbados profile anymore. On the nose: butter, popcorn, vanilla, and sweet corn. On the palate: soft, very round, and clearly artificial, with toffee, creamy sweetness, and an overpowering popcorn note that overshadows everything else. The low proof further takes away any depth. Overall, more of a fun product than a serious Barbados rum.

Tried it again after a while. Very sweet and the rum takes a backseat. But this popcorn note is really intense and in small amounts, you can definitely drink it as a dessert. It also works in cola. Funny idea.

The smell inevitably reminds you of the cinema. Really well done. The taste also reminds you of popcorn. Very, very sweet with caramel and definitely nice popcorn notes. A pure fun product for the home cinema or with friends.

In my opinion, you can't and shouldn't compare it to a classic rum, they're too different and too far apart for that. But if you see the Cinecane as a spiced rum and look for something in that range, you get exactly that for your money. A sweet, easy-drinking but still tasty spiced rum. On the nose, you immediately get buttery caramel popcorn and are reminded of a typical cinema visit. The taste doesn't deviate much from that either. Sugary sweet, with caramel, a slight vanilla note, and sweet popcorn. The finish is a bit short and again very sweet, soft, and caramel-like. All in all, I can highly recommend it with cola or as a cocktail ingredient, or if you like it very sweet, of course, also neat.

Ok… on the nose I think the popcorn flavor is quite nice actually. There is sweetness and noticable notes of corn. On The palate this is revoltingly sweet. Popcorn still noticable, given the extrem high sweetness this is just nothing for me, however.

You have to like it - not much more to say. The craftsmanship fits here, all good. The popcorn comes absolutely naturally and is cinema-full. Apart from quite marked alcoholic sharpness and somewhat too burnt caramel in the middle, it remains popcorn, not much rum left here. Except in the surprisingly long finish. One of the few fun products that are not rubbish but really fun if you want to get into it. Wonderful roasted-obscene El Presidente, lively Mai Tai (tip: use Sloe Gin instead of Triple Sec or Dry Curaçao), really good popcorn Daiquiri. Guilty as charged here.

What happens when you throw heavily sugared and buttered popcorn into rum and then heat it (maceration)? You get a rum that tastes so much like popcorn and smells even more like it, a blast. Unlike many big producers who secretly and quietly adulterate their rums to make them sweet and pleasant, here the flavor addition is the core of the product. And since real popcorn is thrown into the rum, it is extremely sweet but doesn't taste artificial at all.

Truly fascinating. I blind tasted this one at a friend’s and I thought I was smelling a liquor, perhaps Disaronno. Super nice and sweet. Not a crazy complex delicacy but a really fun drink that I thoroughly enjoyed.
