Red-wine tannin, apricot and rose sit on top of a light, velvety Dominican base here. One taster called it a "wine like adventure" with new-world red aromas, and the pink color is clearly part of the pitch. Several find it pleasant and easy but too sweet and too short, with a mild alcohol note. Fun and different rather than deep.

Light Cuban-dominated nose: coffee/caramel/vanilla Mouth (too) sweet: caramel/torrefaction Finish (too) short Let's face it, this rum's only interest lies in its visual appeal (and even then).

Smell: Peaches, plums, rose jam, white chocolate, wood, almond candies, ripe apples, mango. Taste: Apricots, coconut, ruby chocolate, plum, grapes, light smokiness, tartness and freshness, red wine, astringency, cocoa, vanilla.

A light rum, decolorized then re-tinted by a red wine finish, that didn't bode well! Even if it's not my thing, I find it better done than many other festive rums that are spiced and sweetened to death that you see nowadays.
