Mezan Worthy Park Jamaica 2005
Coming from Worthy Park, you might expect a funk bomb — this isn't one. It's a light, easy Jamaican that runs between green and ripe banana, with pineapple, vanilla and a dry oak edge. There's a little solvent funk on the nose, but the body stays soft and drinkable. Several tasters call it a nice "daily sipper" that just lacks punch and complexity.

Light, easy Jamaican banana sipper Most find it very drinkable and pleasant — banana, pineapple, light funk — but agree it's simple and a touch dry, with a slightly bitter finish holding it back.

28.02.2020 Had a nice meet up with new rum nerds. Notes. Light in colour. Nose Light wood, banana, citrus, light honey, spice, grass. Palate Light, light wood, light roasted, round, banana, light olive, faint leather, citrus. Finish Medium long, light wood, grass, dried fruit, spice.

A bottle opened for the occasion. A funky nose with banana and candied pineapple. The palate is soft, expressive and balanced. The finish is a bit bitter with a slightly unpleasant texture. A very pleasant, very drinkable rum but clearly lacking punch and complexity. The finish develops an unpleasant bitterness.

Relatively easy going Worthy Park. Most likely due to the ABV. It moves in between green banana and sweet ripe banana for me. It is quite dry so there you get that green banana but the taste itself is quite sweet, where it moves to ripe banana. There is also vanilla and a wooden barrel note. It is not very complex. A very nice daily sipper.

Rum without pretensions, with classic Jamaican notes of solvents.

Caramelized pineapple, pleasant Jamaican style but quite simple.
