At the palate and during the finish it’s perfectly alright, but the nose is very unpleasant. The price is very way too high, but I found my bottles at an Spanish webshop to the third of the normal price which make it price worthy for me.

Incredibly cool agricole with a super atypical aroma profile. Nose: toffee, burnt caramel, dried apricots, tonka bean and fully ripe pineapple. The taste is much drier and woodier than expected with a slight saltiness and an intense creamy toffee note. Extremely tasty, elegant and complex!

Has something muted, herbal on the nose. Not fresh but rather rooty. And something artificial metallic. Horizon a touch of iodine. In the mouth without air somehow musty stale. With oxygen then comes immediately bitter salty green, green tea. In the finish remains a little bitter green tea. Interesting flavor development, but not quite my cup of tea.

Contrary to the other comments I have read, I find it a bit "light" on the nose, but it is still very pleasant. Also in the mouth where the aromas are powerful and very good. Average length.

It isn’t watery or weak despite being 42%. The nose is fairly fruity - I get apple, banana, dried apricots and pineapple. There is also wood and caramel. The palate is forward on wood and caramel, but also spice, citrus, black tea and a briny note. Quite dry. The finish is woody and vegetal. Overall pretty good but not especially remarkable.

Very interesting rum, fresh and fruity. Nice vanilla nose. Very original, fresh, slightly enolic palate with salted butter caramel. 2nd impression of green apple on the nose, attack a little too frank on the palate, enolic then astringent, no length.

A good rum in the agricole style with quite a few aromas. The woodiness and spices go pretty well with the sugar cane, the vegetal notes and the fruits, ranging from citrus to raisins and pineapple. The profile is quite round, sweet, fresh and balanced on the nose, in line with what you can expect from Père Labat. The palate takes a more bitter, rougher and more complex turn. The fruits become more exotic, the wood approaches sandalwood and the spices put on a show alongside the vegetal and agricultural notes. The slight saline touch in the profile is a plus in this traditional, dry but well-cut profile. The alcohol is well integrated, even though it is at a rather low level. The finish, of medium length, reprises the same codes with a dry, bitter, warmer and roasted sequence, but keeps the freshness of citrus (lime) and the roundness of vanilla. The wood, alcohol and greenery finalize the profile like a closing clap on the palate. A rather well-made rum for a permanent range product and available at a not too bad price.

Surprisingly good, very pleasant rum. Curly, fruity, a young girl's perfume! A real pleasure, a real discovery. What maturity and a real difference. Craftsmanship is good. Wait 15 minutes in your glass before drinking.
