Very good for vanilla cookies. 1 cup butter 1 cup cane sugar 1 1/2 tsp rum 1 tsp vanilla 1 large egg 3 cups flour 3/4 tsp baking powder 3/4 tsp salt Add more rum and flour for even better taste.

Two notes on the nose: honey & vanilla, that's it. On the palate exactly the same, in the finish it leans more towards toffee. Way too sweet for me, but for someone who likes it sweet, this could be quite good.

You can't taste any rum here, which isn't surprising since it's a liqueur with 26% ABV. But both on the nose and the palate, there's nothing but vanilla and a little bit of toffee/butterscotch. Unfortunately, it's not natural at all—you can clearly tell it's an artificial flavor. If you're into full-on artificial sweetness, you'll enjoy this. A sweet liqueur can be great sometimes, but it should taste more natural. And it can, as the "Ida van ……" shows. You can definitely drink the New Grove Vanilla, but I'll probably give away my remaining bottle.
