06.12.2024 The liquid History of Puerto Rico Tasting First of all, many thanks to Artur for the extreme effort and for sharing such old rums at all. The rums themselves were not really spectacular except for a few exceptions, BUT I still really enjoyed it because you just don't get such rums in your glass as a normal mortal and all the background knowledge Artur shared I find insanely interesting. I really tip my hat to that. Big respect!

Tasting of Puerto Rico rums by Artur. A nose with some yellow fruits, neutral alcohol, better than no. 1. The palate shows a beginning of breadth but the taste and strength of the alcohol are very present. The finish is very short with a sweet side. Overall better than #1 except for the quite marked sweet side.

The liquid History of Puerto Rico Tasting - on the nose primarily alcohol, a bit musty, few other notes perceptible, maybe some vanilla. On the palate similar, somewhat stronger vanilla and young wood. Alcohol does not stand out negatively.

Artur's Puerto Rico tasting, thanks for the great overview and history :-) Pleasant sipper, vanilla & gentle sweetness without being intrusive. Slightly alcoholic and short finish. Nice but nothing more.

Primarily alcoholic and somewhat lacquer and citrus fruit aromatic. For about €30, the price-performance ratio is definitely not right here. The only nice thing is the very elaborately made bottle, but otherwise rather disappointing and very spirituous.

Puerto Rico Set Nr. 2: More alcohol on the nose and especially on the palate versus sample 1. Some wood on the nose and palate. However, palate is dominated by chemical notes. Not very pleasant. Cheers to Artur for curating this set!

Though this would primarily be used as a mixer I think it does pretty well with a nice cigar. A rum in the cheaper end of the scale but not a bad one be it for sipping or mixing.
