Most tasters land on "decent but not exciting" here. It's a soft, sweet 21-year Panama: vanilla, caramel, cinnamon and a little raisin, with dark chocolate and pepper on a short finish. Several found it watery at 41.3% and one-note, though a few caught charred wood and solvent that made it more interesting than expected. Sweet-sipper territory that also mixes well.

Average rum that does really well in mixers.

Here also a solid average rum. Again chocolate, caramel and vanilla in the nose. The same then on the palate, where it also comes across as spicy and you can also taste the cask here.

An exciting rum with light chocolate aromas. But you can also detect solvents. In the finish, I even slightly perceived the taste of raisins. Alcohol is quite well integrated. Okay.

Vanilla, caramel, some raisin and a light cinnamon note dominate the nose. It is very sweet and also alcoholic. Otherwise, it tastes like vanilla and dark chocolate. Short finish with notes of cocoa and a bit of pepper. The only thing that makes it interesting.

Not very multifaceted but still somehow exciting. In the smell already slight notes of charred wood, which manifests in the taste with an alcoholic sharpness. Sounds not tasty at first, but the interplay is interesting and challenging. For me, who remembered it as easy sipping and in my notes, I was very surprised. Maybe a matter of the day. The overall package with bottle and box is really great. Price-performance is also very good. Despite difficult rating, I can recommend the 1914.

Little chocolate, some honey on the finish, also some raisin in the medicinal nose. Overall though quite diluted and not very intense.

Original impressions from 2017 rum calendar. Nose: ** Taste: ** Overall: ** ”41,3% Panama.” This is alot better than my first impression. Green apples, cinnamon and vanilla on the nose. Palate is not like the nose, it is much sweeter with honey, marzipan, vanilla and dried fruits. Good sipper if you like the sweeter rums.
