A very fruity and sweet rum matured in sauternes casks which is obvious in nose and palate. Too sweet but still nicely balanced between sweet, fruit and barrel flavours.

This is my third NPU Nose: immediately aromas of citrus fruits (oranges/mandarins) and overripe bananas rise! These overshadow everything else, quite pleasant. Palate: Cointreau is my first thought, only milder and softer, then something bitter joins (grated orange peel) and a strong, but not quite as unnatural sweetness as in the other two NPUs, the finish is short and unspectacular, it stays true to itself (orange and sweet). Acceptable as a dessert drink, but nothing more!

A delicious peach bomb, mild and outstanding as a dessert rum. Despite much longer aging, I miss the flavor added value compared to the normal XO Sauternes Cask. It does not noticeably increase in complexity, so you have to weigh whether you want to pay the considerable extra price for the at least beautiful glass decanter.
