Built for Tiki drinkers first — this is a 75.5% Demerara overproof from Guyana, all treacle, dark chocolate and Christmas pudding with a peppery, oily kick. One member calls it a "beautiful navy grog," and several say it surprises as a slow sipper once it's rested or opened with a few drops of water. Big, hot, and heavy on the molasses.

8,6:On the nose, charred wood notes like burnt Demerara sugar, nuts, smoky, spicy with cinnamon, copper and burnt rubber, iodine, fruits like prunes, dried figs, dates, thick molasses, vegetal, dark with licorice, bump into our nosetrils. On aeration, dried apricots, raisins, cherry and orange arise, caramel, vegetal molasses brings soy sauce, celery, black tea, floral touch. 8,3:On the palate, the attack is slightly alcoholic, metallic with copper, medicinal with iodine, rubber is burnt, molasses is thick, bitter, dark with licorice, black tea, vegetal with soy sauce, chilli, floral, fruity with dried fruits like prunes, dates, raisins and orange, as the wood is charred with caramel, chocolate, coffee, leather, walnuts, spicy with cinnamon, peppery, smoky. 8,0:The finish is medium long, slightly alcoholic, coppery, rubber is still burnt, molasses is thick and dark, vegetal, fruits are dried and oak charred, smoky, spicy. #6759 07.05.2026 Picked up the wife and now it is time for a few more samples. Watching House of David on Amazon Prime. When this rum was released it was very cheap and I should have bought more bottles of it. Though this rum is made for Tiki drinks it does really well as a sipper. Needs to rest to open up properly or add a few drops of water.

The nose is relatively nutty with tropical fruits. On the palate, immediately for me iodine with pepper at the start. Maybe also a hint of walnut. Relatively oily and also with quite a punch. I quite like it.

#1777 24-04-2026 - Rate 8.6 This one really took me by surprise. Had not expected such a rich taste and flavor. It’s an older edition af the bottle. Don’t quite know if it’s the same version they make today.
