The nose leaves no doubt, a Hampden! Relatively but a bit less ester than LROK comparison candidates from 2000, but more glue. Pineapple, overripe banana and vanilla are also found – all very typical. On the palate, it immediately stands out that older LROKs compared to younger ones are fruitier and less herbal and medicinal. At the start, a pleasant sweetness is found, which changes to a slightly sour mouthfeel towards the finish. Accompanied by well integrated 58.9%, lots of fruit and vanilla with a typical long Hampden finish, this is a decent representative of the 2000 vintage. 84 points.
