Brown sugar, molasses and juicy dried plum lead here, with caramel, vanilla and a surprising smoky, faintly agricole edge underneath. Members call it soft and round, "a bit on the sweet side" but more layered than the 42% suggests. One taster picked out prunes and coffee-roast notes. Easy sipping, though a few found the finish a touch thin and short.

Oh wow, at that proof I didn't expect much, but a top rum :-) Slight sweet notes towards caramel and vanilla, but I usually taste that :-). Anyway, this one is recommended, tasty.

A nice and fruity rum. A bit on the sweet side and very soft yet complex on the palate. Draws nice curtains in the glass and has nice flavours in the empty glass.

On the nose moderate brown sugar and molasses with a fine agricole aroma. The taste has a stronger agricole flavor with brown sugar and molasses sweetness. The finish is medium strong with brown sugar and molasses. Very soft, but also unique.

Very interesting rum. Minus is the price but compared to rums in this price range still worth buying. Stands out in terms of smoothness of drinking.

Discovered this rum at a tasting event. Quite surprising. Blind, I doubt I could have identified what it was. In the end, it's a fairly round rum with marked woody notes. It's caramelized without being cloying. Quite nice but the price for me is not in line with the quality.

On The Rocks: On the nose a moderate brown sugar and molasses with a feint Agricole aroma. Taste has a stronger Agricole taste with brown sugar and molasses sweetness. Finish is medium with the brown sugar and molasses continuing. Very smooth but also unique for Emperor. Mixed Pepsi Zero: On the nose Pepsi zero with a slight sweetness and some molasses. Taste is delicious with a sweet Pepsi and Molasses mix. Finish is short but the taste is overall quite nice. Would be a waste to drink mixed at this price though.
