Rum Nation Diamond Small Batch Rare Rums 2005
Best sipped slowly at room temperature, this Diamond pot-still Guyanese leans dark and heavy: oak, roasted coffee, raisins and a whiff of leather, with light caramel underneath. What splits people is the strong smoky, almost whisky-like character — one taster even likened the tail to "lightly dirty Caroni." At 58% it needs air and time. Rewarding for some, off-putting for others.

How does Rum Nation Diamond Small Batch Rare Rums 2005 taste?
Aggregated from 36 community reviews.
Dark, smoky, whisky-like Guyanese sipper Divisive. Fans get complex oak, dried fruit and coffee; others find it too tannic and smoky, tasting more like a peaty whisky than rum. Give it time in the glass.

19. 01.2019 A nice evening with colleagues from all over Denmark. Notes. Dark in colour. Nose: wood, roasted, coffee, dried fruit, light caramel, licorice. Palate: oily, wood, roasted, coffee, raisin, citrus, faint leather. Finish: medium to long, wood, roasted, raisin, chocolate.

Vielschichtig, braucht Zeit.

Unfortunately, I have no information about a finish. Taste-wise, there is clearly a whiskey finish that I don't really like.

28-03-2025 It got a second chance. But it the same experience. 10-08-2024 Has a strong note and taste of smoked whisky. Not a rum for me.
