The mint is the twist here — a cooling herbal streak that flickers through an otherwise thick, sweet pour. Around it sit chocolate, marzipan, vanilla and raisin, soft at 40% and easy to drink. Beginners and sweet-rum lovers get the most out of it; several members enjoy the glass but flag the sweetness for flattening the aromas. Very delicious, sweetened Rum! Great for beginners, with a very bad value for money ratio. In the nose some notes of honey, marzipan, vanilla, oak, toasted. Lovely for sweet-rum lovers. In the mouth the sweetness continues with some notes of marzipan, fruitcake, vanilla, oak (barrel), toasted. The finish is medium long and sweet with some tastes of vanilla and oak. Tried again 4 years later! Great rum! Very underrated here on RumX! Doesn‘t seems like 40%, more like 50+! There is power, body, nice notes. Great bottling!

Had a Bellamy's Reserve tasting yesterday and it was kind of a disappointment to say the least. Here's the second of the six. Not a bad rum if you're looking for Guyana sweetness, but you'd be better off with an El Dorado 15 or 21 years old, which are both better and cheaper. Price to quality is not good.

Meine RumRatings Review von vor 5 Jahren: Der Rum ist in der Nase durchaus interessant. Schwer und süffig riecht er. Karamel und Schokolade. Kakao und auch Vanille schwingen mit. Am Gaumen ist der Rum ganz klar süß. Schokolade ist im Vordergrund. Etwas Frucht und eine leicht holzige Note schwingen mit. Auch etwas Minze was den Rum auflockern. Aber die Süße dominiert. Der Abgang ist mittellang und Fassnoten schwingen mit. Durchaus Vollmundig lässt der Rum sich einfach trinken. Dieser Rum ist eigentlich ein Muss für Süß Rum Trinker. Ich mag ihn sogar trotz des Zuckers. Aber der Preis ist absolut übertrieben und ich würde niemals über 80 Euro für einen Rum mit 20g/l Zucker ausgeben. Das ist frech. Daher eher keine Kaufempfehlung. Nur wegen einem alten Fass den Rum so teuer zu verkaufen ist schon ein starkes Stück.

The most complex nose of the five and very pleasant. I lack the comparison to Enmore products in general, but here it has overall more character and depth. On the palate, this expresses itself with a herbal note and a more bitter finish than the others. Goes very well with the fruity base – but also overshoots the price a bit.

The strong sweetness blurs the aromas, which makes the rum pleasant but unfortunately quite boring. Especially the price-performance ratio is not good here.
